Last Quarter & Balsamic Moon

August 29 Monday
Monday’s last quarter Cancer Moon reminds us of the past, especially the last three weeks. We can easily reflect on how much effort we have put into uprooting ourselves from former attitudes or behaviors. And how much effort are we putting into building a framework for our new endeavors? Release any emotional debris lingering from old habits and pleasures. Deal with the past and the future in a balanced way. Let the joy of pursuing an ideal life that encompasses all parts of the life cycle propel you forward. Accept that life happens on many levels! Prepare for a void of course Moon all day tomorrow!

August 30 Tuesday
The Cancer Moon is void of course all of Tuesday! This is where the river enters the sea! Streams of consciousness go in many directions. Some feelings get pushed back by strong currents, while others merge with future possibilities. The Moon enters her balsamic phase at 9:47 am, MDT. This is a time when all of the experience of this cycle comprehensively compels us to find fresh approaches in our daily lives, to envision new possibilities. Being in reflective mode today can support us in seeing what belongs and what doesn’t. Attune to new impulses!

August 31 Wednesday
Wednesday’s Leo Moon reminds us that to fully be human we need to continuously re-create ourselves! This can be an all-consuming task and a tiring one if you’re stuck in the past. To be present takes a certain vibrancy and willingness to approach virginal or youthful material and master it. Keeping up with the evolution of information technology is one way to experience this. Making fresh connections with timeless material, such as classical myths, is another. Be intent; show determination and effort to find what you need to shape yourself anew!

September 1 Thursday
As Thursday begins, the Leo Moon urges us to face the myriad tasks of a busy morning with a robust heartiness. Experiencing different approaches to situations can keep us from bouncing off old contexts. Things loosen up in the afternoon, and perception can be heightened and exhilarating, like being in an altered state of consciousness. We may feel merry and wild, free to play out the divine! This starry-eyed period features a spectacular view of Venus and Jupiter dancing together in the western sky just after the paled Moon and the Sun have set.

September 2 Friday
At 5:44 am, MDT, the Leo Moon goes void of course for eight hours! Leonine vivaciousness can turn sluggish in this diffusive state. The Moon is extravagantly pouring out the recreational energies of Leo with no strong intent. Let the lion in you rest, and keep options open! At 1:56 pm the Moon enters Virgo, setting her sights on the new cycle beginning tomorrow. Embrace any disorder or confusion that often accompanies the dark moon before her rendezvous with the Sun. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow at 11:30 to noon for the weekend Moon Minute. You can also hear us on the worldwide web at ksfr.org.

September 3 Saturday
We have a new Moon in Virgo at 12:45 pm, MDT, emphasizing timing. When is the right moment for you to connect and know something or someone? Especially when you are driven by eagerness, curiosity, and fascination! Confront these feelings and thoughts in yourself today. At 9:40 Sunday morning the Moon goes void of course for the rest of the day. This enhances magical realism in which Virgo can anthropomorphize nature and learn lots about timing and readiness. Spend time contemplating nature’s rituals and our interaction with them.
