Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

September 26 Monday
Monday’s Cancer Moon in her last quarter phase has a mood of acquiescence. Old, familial types of relationships seem different; yet we keep going through the motions of keeping them alive. To balance our emotional needs we may need to let go of some formerly cozy behaviors used in relating to others. They are fostering unhealthy entanglements that prevent us from making room for what can only be felt, not seen, at this time. Watch how adaptable you are to others’ whims. Can you be versatile and participate in the social circumstances of this day without losing touch with your own feelings? At 7:24 pm, MDT, retreat as the Moon goes void of course at 7:24 pm, MDT, until tomorrow morning.

September 27 Tuesday
Spend the early morning in quiet reflection. There will be plenty of time for rousing activity after the Moon leaves the comfy embrace of Cancer at 8:03 am, MDT, and enters Leo. Dramatic spontaneity may be the theme of the day, including a startling awakening to the lessons we have been receiving. Each of us may intuit how we have been both the teacher and the student, and which lessons we must bring to a finale so that our creativity does not erode. This waning Moon helps us be keenly conscious of social interactions, and Leo offers the will to perform our personal roles with confidence.

September 28 Wednesday
Social pressures intensify on this Leo Moon Wednesday. Morning conversations seem to go nowhere as each side is caught up in its own drama. Yet things aren’t all one-sided today. A spirit of rowdy celebration characterizes interdependent operations. There can be a warm-hearted spirit enthusing multi-tasking, networking activities, even if they seem heavy and chaotic, or wildly out of control. Each of us may find ourselves divided in our hearts as we share good times and fumble through with wandering attention seeking some inner calming realization.

September 29 Thursday
The Leo Moon has entered its balsamic phase. At this point in the cycle we can manage the myriad changes that have come about due to our determination to alter or transform some pattern revealed in the course of this lunation. It is also time to start letting go of this cycle to face the quest of the next one. At 9:12 am, MDT, the Moon goes void of course for eleven and a half hours! So for most of the day our sensitivities are ultra-heightened. We can cultivate the desires of our souls! At 8:44 pm, the Moon moves into Virgo offering ways to ground the conjurings of our imaginations.

September 30 Friday
Friday’s Virgo Moon brings us full circle to the last new Moon with hopefully greater discernment about how we approach situations with obvious hidden factors. Do we act with our peculiar brand of individuality or do we get drawn into someone else’s agenda? Can we express our thoughts at the moment of their conception without censorship? Or are we bound by some code of behavior that annihilates a pure response to one’s inner desires. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow at 11:30 to noon for the weekend Moon Minute. You can also hear us on the worldwide web at ksfr.org.

October 1 Saturday
Saturday’s invisible Virgo Moon offers adaptive skills to plow through an influx of new material flooding one’s thoughts. We can ward off intrusive elements and distinguish subtle implications of what’s coming with the new Moon on Monday. Although astute to circumstances, we may be devoid of self-drive or motivation as Mars goes retrograde at 4:04 pm, MDT, and the Moon goes void of course at 7:22 pm until 8:24 Sunday morning. After that time Sunday, a Libra Moon weakens self-assertion, and we may need to struggle to maintain equilibrium.
