First Quarter and Gibbous Moon Phases

October 10 Monday
Monday’s Capricorn Moon tests us on the impact of our determination to obtain an objective. Action is required for results, and that is what is called forth by the tension of the first quarter Moon ninety degrees from the Sun at 1:01 pm, MDT. This first quarter phase is not a time to naively think that resting on past achievements and pleasing everybody will get you somewhere. It’s a time to adhere to high standards and mobilize all of one’s energy with ironclad guts. And at the end of the day, reward yourself for deeds done that have brought you steps closer to your destination.

October 11 Tuesday
The Capricorn Moon is void of course during the early morning hours. We may feel like we’re scrambling to do as many tasks as possible, and prioritizing doesn’t seem to work. Be satisfied with whatever immediately presents itself. At 10:05 am, MDT, the Moon moves into Aquarius, showering us with a promethean-like spirit to use whatever means available to break down barriers and transmit our perspectives. This may be worthwhile even if we think we are pandering to the lowest common denominator, and even if we are likely to be misunderstood.

October 12 Wednesday
With an Aquarius Moon we can use the element of surprise and even make a fool of ourselves – yet come up as having an advantage if done with humility as versus arrogance. Be aware of your own position and keenly observant of others, lest you stumble into traps or pitfalls. There is a way to stir people’s emotions and touch them with your knowledge and understanding of marvelous things. This gift can be revealed today. And if used with good-natured simplicity, it can help you live up to your potential and be joined by others who share or appreciate your aspirations.

October 13 Thursday
The Aquarius Moon goes void of course at 7:34 am, MDT, for four and a half hours. We can face any morning chaos by accessing our inner knowledge for how best to proceed. At 12:05 pm, the Moon moves into Pisces, a sign that gathers forces to wear down crystallized habits of the past. During this cycle we can use the adeptness of Pisces to bridge our expectations with those of others in imaginative ways that help us escape the oppressiveness of repetitive behavior. At 9:50 pm, the Moon enters her gibbous phase. Concentrate all of your energy over the next three days on manifesting your intentions for this cycle.

October 14 Friday
The Pisces Moon can inspire us to strive for excellence. We each have some sort of expertise and can offer it to others to sustain them. In whatever complex social web you merge with today, allow yourself to express some of your wisdom. And while doing so, feel it leave you like water leaving the river to join the sea. There may be some resistance, but eventually there is acceptance. Stay focused. Just what are you trying to get across? Be ready for a spacy void Moon Saturday morning. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow at 11:30 to noon for the weekend Moon Minute. You can also hear us on the worldwide web at ksfr.org.

October 15 Saturday
The Pisces Moon is void of course Saturday morning, leaving us suspended in clouds. Focus inward. At 1:39 pm, MDT, the Moon enters Aries. Our heads may feel cleared and open to re-interpret our actions as we hold things together into Sunday morning. We can weave our individual codes of behavior with those of others, displaying an unusual capacity to be in sync. This fuels an optimism about being able to bridge any chasm. Encouragement waxes while the Moon fully lights the whole night before she’s eclipsed by the earth’s shadow as she approaches her fullness at 6:14 Monday morning.
