First Quarter & Gibbous Moon

July 3 Monday
We begin the week with a Libra Moon somewhat bound to traditional agreements yet feeling strongly inclined to satisfy a personal longing. At 10:37 am, MDT, she moves into her first quarter phase, a time for decisive action. Libra offers several options when it comes to choosing directions. Things don’t have to stay the way they are on the surface. We can find ways to get out from under stifling expectations of others. The outcome will depend on how well-intentioned we are for all parties concerned. Make decisions based on spiritual principles.

July 4 Tuesday
The Libra Moon is linked to powerful forces which we can draw upon to use clear-headed judgment in our entanglements. AT 1:17 pm, MDT, she goes void of course for almost ten hours. Just as the Moon frees herself of the collaborative, ideal-driven energies of Libra, we, too, can experience a non-committal state in which our personal needs become transparent. This holiday may be well spent on a lounge chair basking in a reverie of experiencing the full range of one’s unique needs fulfilled. Don’t fixate on the ideal holiday gathering. Happy Independence Day!

July 5 Wednesday
On this Wednesday there is an intense urge to assert one’s beliefs, to salute the divine, and to act on spiritual guidance. The Scorpio Moon pierces deeply into our minds to extract what we have suppressed and to explore new options. Retrograde Mercury brings up old information to help us bridge the comfort and protection of long-time practices with the floundering, perhaps overwhelming, impact of present experiences. Deal with the issues that are inundating you. Jupiter, the planet of abundant promise, is stationary direct, emphasizing the availability of unbounded strength.
July 6 Thursday
Thursday’s Scorpio Moon has found a way to interweave all that deeply impacts one’s self-sufficiency. Even in the midst of dream-like eruptions, we can tap into the escape-artist that dwells within each of us to lead us into a self-possessed composure. Or our inner fool might suggest some silly antics to lighten things up. At 1:54 pm, MDT, the Moon goes void of course until tomorrow morning. She opens up the dam gates to let the stored up emotionally and psychically deep waters of Scorpio drain out. We can feel disoriented, overwhelmed or extra-sensitive and highly attuned to ours and others’ needs.

July 7 Friday
The Scorpio Moon is void of course until 8:13 am, MDT, when she moves into Sagittarius, encircled by all of her old habits. At 8:51 am, she enters her gibbous phase, prompting us to improve the circumstances that provide for our well-being by either deepening our entanglement in a promising social involvement or extricating ourselves from one. Adhere to your own code of conduct while being alert for potentially dangerous situations. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

July 8 Saturday The gibbous Sagittarius Moon can optimize circumstances for making a dramatic adjustment in the process used to secure basic needs. Such an act can align us with the support we need to joyfully and playfully attain our expectations. The Moon goes void of course at 4:41 am, Sunday, MDT, for the rest of the morning. Stay positive and imagine how all your needs can be fulfilled during the coming week. At 1:25 pm, the Moon moves into disciplined, dutiful Capricorn. Don’t fret if it’s your day off! Capricorn recognizes slacking off as a way to replenish productive energy.
