Last Quarter & Balsamic Moon

July 17 Monday
We begin the week with an Aries Moon proliferating a restless expectation of huge waves of change. At 1:12 pm, MDT, the Moon enters her last quarter phase. It’s time to take stock of how creatively we have crossed beyond a threshold of familiarity to acquire necessary sustenance. Have we relied on old habits? Can we flex the muscle of some stored up ability that’s ready to emerge? We may feel internally over-stimulated with images flashing in our heads. Retrieve the ones that are flattering. And with enthusiasm, consider that we each deserve to be at our best!

July 18 Tuesday
The Moon is in Taurus and emotional bonds formed in shared struggles are strong this morning. Sympathy buttons are easily pushed. Do they present the anger of resentment or betrayal, or the sadness of loss, or the joy of survival? Whatever the feeling, ponder it for a while along with accompanying memories. Then find a place of balance that brings simple happiness. Inner composure can fuse us with our personal values and worth. Be independent, if need be. Be true to yourself without insisting on inflating the battles you’ve been through.

July 19 Wednesday
The earthy Taurus Moon, visible in the morning hours, is evoking us to do something with current self-revelations. Our attitudes, beliefs and feelings are the underlying ground upon which our lives are based. We are, like the earth, a vast world unto ourselves. And from ecology, we know that if we change one thing, like an emotion of anger or disappointment that’s dominating us, it can change everything. Respond to your strong emotions, and you may find the courage to overthrow the unhappy ones, or the rejuvenation to bring exciting things into your life.

July 20 Thursday
With Thursday’s Gemini Moon, consider yourself an observer. Step outside of yourself and examine your past, the ideals and aspirations you’ve had. Where are you now, and where do you want to go? Life has many intersections or turning points. Do you notice them? Everyday presents crossroads. Sometimes they are simply magical moments in which we decide to try something new. And that novelty reorganizes our lives. Arranging who you are, what you’re doing, or what you’re feeling differently today could be a huge liberating experience.

July 21 Friday
The Gemini Moon is in her balsamic phase, bringing everything that has transpired in this cycle into a comprehensive story underscoring the blessings and backing away from unproductive behavior. Our internal network of intuitive and instinctive flashes is lit up, attempting to bring through some volatile force, beaconing us to connect with our essential selves and openly appreciate the changes we’ve made. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

July 22 Saturday The Moon enters Cancer this morning at 9:28, MDT, after a ten minute void of course period. This afternoon she returns to the degree at which she last met the Sun, reminding us of how our individual differences come into play when we’re dealing with bottom line survival needs. This evening and throughout Sunday, review the emotional bonds you feel when in unusual or critical situations with others. How do you respond to them? Prepare for uncertainty on Monday as the Moon will be void of course most of that day.
