New Moon

August 21 Monday
The balsamic Leo Moon draws us inward for playing with ideas, especially novel ones. It’s a good time for taking thoughts and freely associating them with whatever comes up. There may not be much rational thought to what occurs. Matter of fact, we might find that muddleheadedness, unclearness, and fantasy rule the day! Yet we can be at the heart of our creative process-- a place where we can attract all that is desired and mix it up in such a way that it becomes a gift of ourselves that we can release to everyone in our heart space.

August 22 Tuesday
Tuesday’s Leo Moon stirs us to test our limits or boundaries. We may be inspired to be spontaneously outrageous in a non traditional manner. To what extent can you abandon restraints and slack off to express what lives inside of you? Validate your own talents and gifts so that they direct your pursuits. Let go of inhibitions; articulate what seems difficult or even impossible. Even if you fumble about grappling for an explanation, your performance may bring brilliant insights and quite a few chuckles. The dark Moon is void of course after midnight until noon tomorrow, rich with creative ideas!

August 23 Wednesday
The Leo Moon is void of course all morning, spewing out creative impulses full of future possibilities. At 12:08 pm, MDT, the Moon enters reductionistic and discerning Virgo. And at 1:10 pm, she conjoins the Sun, who entered Virgo earlier this morning, to begin a new Moon cycle. The theme of this lunation is about being true to one’s self, abiding by one’s own counsel. Circumstances may arise over the next few days that clearly outline either a direction to take or the process one uses to cultivate total self-honesty and integrity in decision making.

August 24 Thursday
With Thursday’s Virgo Moon we can direct our energies into analyzing the benefits of certain possibilities, organizing and re-organizing our options. Think of this as a quest to get into the optimal rhythm of this new Moon cycle. People are a major resource for Virgo. What influence do others have in your discernment process? Do they keep you focused or throw you off into tangents? Do entanglements with others spell trouble, or do they ripen the quality of your daily work? Notice what specialties or innovations today’s social interactions highlight.

August 25 Friday
With Friday morning’s Virgo Moon we may identify a habit with a tradition or lineage, and strive to articulate it in new terms or simply with a twist to it. Spelling it out may give tribute to it or bring it to an end. The Moon goes void of course at 1:00 pm, MDT, until after midnight. So ease into the weekend as the Moon shakes out every speck of Virgo, clouding the usual clarity and precision of that earthy sign. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

August 26 Saturday
We have a Libra Moon for the weekend, appreciative of any calmness that allows for questioning what the new Moon phase has generated and getting a sense of what to expect during the next week. Sunday at 4:45 pm, MDT, the Moon enters her crescent phase emphasizing the effort and determination needed to consider whether or not some new project, concept or awareness is worth pursuing. Part of that consideration in this cycle has to do with a sense of some heritage that has been forgotten or inaccessible. Be prepared for a slow start on Monday morning with a void of course Moon.
