New & Crescent Moon

October 23 Monday
The Moon is in Scorpio, and at 7:26 am, MDT, the Sun also enters that sign, stressing the underlying unity of the feminine and the masculine or any polarity for that matter. By letting go of differences we can find the common ground. Yet with Scorpio there is always more. We can get a sense of a proliferation of worlds, distinctly different. And it is possible to bridge the distinctions by adapting the focus of our desires, like being concerned about the journey not the destination. Some of us are process-oriented, and others goal-oriented. Consider swimming laps for exercise. Can you enjoy each stroke and sensation while completing each lap?

October 24 Tuesday
The Scorpio Moon is void of course all morning. This ending of her monthly sojourn through Scorpio is perfect for soul searching, for mulling over intense secret thoughts that feel near impossible to speak about with others. There’s a paradox here, however, because the evasion of sharing is the antithesis of the intimacy that Scorpio seeks with others. And remember this Moon cycle asks us to find a way to change, to bridge old ways of being with behaviors that open us to a new kind of community. At 12:53 pm, MDT, the Moon moves into the realm of broad horizons, Sagittarius!

October 25 Wednesday
Wednesday morning’s Sagittarius Moon tests our comfort zone in the midst of sudden challenges to our character. Remember; appearances aren’t everything. What are the deeper truths or ideals that want attention. And how will they assist you in bridging everyday problems and reaching beyond yourself for greater knowledge, which is the theme of this lunation cycle. At 10:34 pm, MDT, the Moon enters her crescent phase, working on pushing through any hesitation about uncovering subconscious habits and programming that prevent us from releasing our special value.

October 26 Thursday
Thursday’s crescent Sagittarius Moon suggests we cheerfully set aside impulses to act immediately regarding any obstacles we confront, as they may turn out to be superficial distractions from our true quest. Instead of working oneself into a frenzy with such diversions, stay with the momentum of your own pursuits. At 12:02 pm, MDT, the Moon goes void of course for over nine hours. As the Moon shoots the fiery arrows of Sagittarius in all directions, we may feel like we are plunging into darkness or stuck on one trajectory. At 9:47 pm, the Moon enters the orderly world of Capricorn.

October 27 Friday
The Capricorn Moon can remind us of goal-setting, and early this morning she connected with Venus and the Sun which are resonating a strong heart zone for attracting our desires. This Moon can support us in holding intentions and working towards their manifestation. So focus on visualizing images of what is desirable as versus what is undesirable. Today’s heart fest can create dilemmas if you send mixed messages. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 28 Saturday
As the Moon finishes up its journey through Capricorn this Saturday, a decision needs to be made about what will get developed over the week ahead, what will get your full emotional attention. With Mercury going retrograde 1:16 pm, MDT, there is a reorientation of thought and movement patterns. And on Sunday the Moon moves into Aquarius and enters its first quarter phase at 2:25 pm, MST. This second quarter is the most productive time of the month. In this cycle we are asked to see things differently than we have in the past. The work is about looking for openings on the inner planes.
