Disseminating & Last Quarter Moon

January 8 Monday
The Virgo Moon pinpoints which struggles really matter. Thoughts, feelings, everything that’s been happening converges. Think outside of your circle of familiarity. Use your emotional radar to find your confidence, and let it determine what gets the bulk of your attention. A healthy sense of self-sufficiency can help throw off the spell of outworn rituals that insulate us from new possibilities. Involve yourself with tasks in ways that are clearly an improvement over former stale, nonproductive behavior.

January 9, Tuesday
The Virgo Moon is void of course from 5:50 this morning until 11:15 am, MST. This period is excellent for healing rituals that strip away everything that deters you from attaining what you seek to experience. It is possible to realize and understand what disorients you, how you get overwhelmed. At 11:15 am, the Moon moves into Libra, helping us be at peace with where and how we are. Yet Libra brings to mind our personal ideals and sparks our spiritual core to maintain a steady progress towards what we feel ought to exist in our social milieu.

January 10, Wednesday
Wednesday’s emotional climate with a Libra Moon is graced with satisfaction. Some of us may feel so generous that we try to do too much, overextending ourselves. Yet the expansive sense this day brings can help us find centeredness. And in that space we have the ability to evaluate what truly needs our attention and how we can integrate many aspects of our lives. Libra offers us compliancy that tends to seek some ideal of beauty and fairness. This can lead us to setting unrealistic standards and to being easily deceived by influential people.

January 11, Thursday
The Libra Moon enters her last quarter phase at 5:44 am, MST. Her presence in the middle of the morning sky reminds us that at this point in the cycle we are empowered to see everything and comprehend the consciousness that was seeded at the last new Moon. The challenge from the middle of the sky or mountain top is to recognize the direction of the next journey, to make the connection from the joy of certain realizations and accomplishments to the confidence needed to reorient oneself. There are spiritual resources to drawn upon for this shift. They are especially available tonight after 6:55 pm, when the Moon goes void of course.

January 12 Friday
The last quarter Moon is in Scorpio, reminding us of death and rebirth, the death of flat, spirit-less behavior and the emergence of enthused, whole-hearted activity. With some introspection we can grasp what we are dealing with and how we can advance the level of awareness we use in our everyday life. All we need to do is make a clean break from some unwanted, unneeded habit. With such conscious action, many things seem to change: predicaments and even relationships. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MST, for the weekend Moon Minute.

January 13 Saturday
With Saturday’s Scorpio Moon we are being challenged to notice subtle shifts in behavior, both our own and that of others. These changes are intimations of the distinctions between our present consciousness and what is possible. The Moon goes void of course Sunday morning at 8:49 MST for two and a half hours of releasing emotional wounds and renewing inner strength. At 11:11 am, the Moon enters Sagittarius, urging us to find comfort in our highest ideals. Feelings can easily be exaggerated and overindulged. Seek to understand your emotional states.

Full Moon

January 1 Monday
The new year begins with a Gemini Moon that would like to believe everything happening is quite rational, that explanations can be found if we just get the right data. Yet there is a non-rational influence of large forces converging. Some of us sense this and pick and choose bits and pieces that we can handle and prepare for, hoping that we are addressing what is essential to get us through any difficult period. The Gemini Moon emphasizes flexibility, freeing oneself from unnecessary pressures and burdens in order to make the transitions called for in the year ahead.

January 2 Tuesday
The work week begins this Tuesday with a void of course Moon in Gemini. This can be disorienting. If you have to leave home before 8:14 am, MST, be extra sensitive to the environment you traverse. At 8:14 am, the Moon moves into Cancer where we can explore our emotional terrain for an ideal attitude that will support us through the rest of the day, and that resonates with our hearts as we also attend to the way in which we add finishing touches as we progressed towards a goal. The Moon will be full tomorrow morning and go void of course until Thursday afternoon!

January 3 Wednesday
We have a full Cancer Moon at 6:57 am, MST, revealing how we hold to a course of action while assessing obstacles and extending ourselves wherever we can. How do we make room for the many parts within ourselves as well as for others we feel tribally connected to without dissipating the core energy needed to attain a quest? The Moon also goes void of course at 6:57 am, draining out the life-supporting waters of Cancer until tomorrow afternoon. We can be nourished during this period by tuning into an oasis of exotic imagery, fuel for visualizing what we want to manifest.

January 4 Thursday
The Cancer Moon is void of course until this afternoon. She is inundating us with images of how to receive what we want. The strength and protection of the crab’s shell, her armor, does not keep us from feeling buffeted by the changeable, perhaps moody emotional climate. At 2:14 pm, MST, the Moon moves into drama-inducing Leo. Internal tensions from the full Moon may erupt with an emotional release that can restore a sense of balance. It may be especially helpful to examine underlying motivational factors behind any course of action.

January 5 Friday
Friday’s Leo Moon sheds some creative light on possible adjustments that support a more productive and fun approach to how we attain our goals. Through some sharing of our process with others, we may even learn how to imprint our personal stamp on everything that we do. The synergy of congeniality and warm-hearted efforts to assist others can propel us to skip further along on a journey than the drudgery of plugging along step by step. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MST, for the weekend Moon Minute.

January 6 Saturday
The risk-taking Leo Moon gives us flashes of the precariousness of the quest we are on with insights of where we get stuck and how important it is to maintain reliable connections that can guide us out of blind spots. The Moon goes void of course at 5:55 pm, MST until 11:18 pm. During this period we may be especially susceptible to co-dependence, living up or down to other people’s expectations. Sunday at 2:38 am, the Virgo Moon enters her disseminating phase, a time for uncovering the deep meaning of the full Moon’s revelations, to understand them in such a way that they serve as inspiration for the ongoing journey.
