Balsamic & New Moon

January 15 Monday
The Sagittarius Moon enters her balsamic phase at 6:07 am, MST. This is a stage at which we can see how life and tasks are ecologically interconnected. Life force oozes into where it’s needed. All we need to do is follow the juice; reorient ourselves towards a hint of something new that wants attention; and make some clean breaks from useless or stagnating habits. With a spirit of open-mindedness we can attract just what or who we need in the pursuit of some ideal, exemplifying that feeling of being at the right place at the right time.

January 16 Tuesday
Tuesday’s Sagittarius Moon tells us to look for the poignant spirit in the obligations we face. The Moon, though barely visible, crosses the heart center of our galaxy and faintly whispers of possible, new paths as she goes void of course at 2:28 pm, MST for almost four and half hours. During this time the Moon is emptying herself of broad-reaching Sagittarian energy. Beware of overextending yourself! At 6:49 pm, the Moon enters Capricorn, directing us to have the courage to consider the development of some new direction with Thursday’s new Moon.

January 17 Wednesday
The invisible Capricorn balsamic Moon weakens the self discipline needed to focus on what needs to be done. Substitute your standard operating procedures with intuitive strategies. Seek to free yourself of your ordinary concerns. Sticking to your usual rules could drain you of your inner drive or even block out the rich insights and inspirations that accompany this darkened Moon. Use the Capricorn Moon to gather new experiences that come with putting common, familiar situations into a broader context. Have your antenna tuned for opportunities to do this.

January 18 Thursday
Fantasies or cherished dreams may be the overall pursuit of the day taking precedence over everything else. Before the new Moon tonight, release thoughts and feelings that negate or stand in the way of possessing what is desired. At 9:01 pm, MST, the Capricorn Moon conjoins the Sun to begin a new cycle. The theme of this lunation has to do with how we get to the inner essence of things, the inner truth. How do we bring to the surface our deepest thoughts and distill their truth? How do we still our mind to access what is authentic?

January 19 Friday
The Aquarius Moon in her new phase brings an awareness of how to upgrade your circumstances. She zeros in on bad conditions and how to eliminate them, or at least the superfluous aspects of them, how to take our lives to a new level of freedom worth celebrating! By following our inner knowing, we can confidently and enthusiastically move forward with the assurance that what we need to know will come to us. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MST, for the weekend Moon Minute.

January 20 Saturday
Both the Moon and the Sun are now in Aquarius, that windy sign that stirs up the waters of our unconscious to help us grasp new, evolutionary and revolutionary ideas. The more diverse our experiences the wiser our perspective can be and the easier it becomes to get rid of shoddy ideas. At 10:00 pm, MST, the Moon goes void of course, outpouring innovative suggestions in our dreams. Sunday at 1:48 am, the Moon enters Pisces, providing us with urges to explore our dreams in new ways.
