Balsamic and New Moon

July 9 Monday
The pale morning Taurus Moon shows us the worth of the past and the future, especially if we have taken the time to comprehend the personal meaning of current events and are willing to design a future that goes beyond what has been. Clean out old stuff and habits; make room for something new. Look for emerging opportunities that can provide quantum leaps in a new direction, and seize them! Mercury goes direct tonight, helping us venture into unknown territory with more courage and curiosity.

July 10 Tuesday
This morning’s Taurus Moon transmits some confrontational energy. We may want to engage in some honest conversation about expectations and how they fit mythic longings, like Cinderella and Prince Charming living in fantasy land. The Moon goes void of course at 10:54 am, MDT, for a little over three hours of sweeping out splashy, pie-in-the sky dreams. At 2:10 pm, she moves into Gemini, ready to sniff out unfamiliar environments with confidence no matter how awkward and strange the circumstances. At 7:53 pm, the Moon enters her balsamic phase, time to rely on memory and surrender into envisioning possible futures.

July 11 Wednesday
Wednesday’s Balsamic Gemini Moon encounters life in the raw, seeking her own truth. Some of us will too. In such a process we can see beyond divisions of form to the implicit connectivity of things. Gemini can go beneath the surface and pretenses to discover underlying motives and spiritual roots. This does not need to be serious and somber. Examine things playfully; be alert for surprises, and trust your intuition. Let it help you distinguish between true and false beliefs that you have previously adhered to. Such scrutiny can be liberating.

July 12 Thursday
This morning’s Gemini Moon returns to where she last met the Sun, reflecting back on old habits around having fun and expressing agility. She reminds us of our level of commitment to re-define perceptions and perspectives to attune to the inner self. At 3:12 pm, MDT, the Moon goes void of course for an hour and a half, blowing the winds of confusion and disorientation our way. At 4:39 pm, she moves into Cancer for her first encounter with Mercury since it went direct. We may get clarity on some perceptions that arose over the past month while Mercury was retrograde.

July 13 Friday
We have a Cancer Moon on this last seemingly moon-less day of the cycle. This is a hidden Moon pregnant with possibilities and the certainty that what is essential for ongoing consciousness will keep on coming. There is a restlessness fueled by a desire for future growth and a connection to the richness and beauty of life. Tonight is good for setting intentions that invite in one’s deepest yearnings. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

July 14 Saturday
At 6:04 am, MDT, the Cancer Moon met the Cancer Sun to begin a new phase and a theme on how we rely on fate/destiny/the universe to deliver anticipated connections. Since that new Moon encounter, the Moon has been void of course, bringing a tide of emotions seasoned with uncertainty and passion. At 8:43 pm, the Moon moves into Leo, taking on a playful, celebratory aura. We might find some fun on Sunday by taking on the guise of the cat. Chase after something new, and pounce on it. Then clean up, take a nap, and dream about upcoming adventures.

Disseminating and Last Quarter Moon

July 2 Monday

Monday’s Aquarius Moon struggles to stir up activity that can provide access to interactions on an archetypal dimension. Through sudden flashes or realizations we can see how the events of the passed two weeks come together into a common theme. And by listening with our hearts throughout the day, we can perceive how attuned we are to the humming of our soul.Choose a melody for the day that can support an inner connection with spirit. Notice how this internal music sounds when around friends and those with whom you work.

July 3 Tuesday
This Tuesday is psychic liberation day. What the mind can form into images, it can manifest. Start out with your expectations for the day, and visualize one of them in an ideal outcome. Know that that will happen; expect nothing less. Be at one with your intention, anticipating results. Co-ordinate efforts with good-natured simplicity. Major ah-has, insights, can arrive today about events that occurred eighteen years ago, having to do with idealized structures. These may alter your relationship to the past and bring a sensitivity to distorted views of reality.

July 4 Wednesday
The Moon is in Pisces and entered her disseminating phase last night while still in Aquarius. This is a time for sharing or demonstrating at least to oneself the understanding that came with this lunation, which offered a sense of one’s place and agility in some area of life. Can such a realization be put in a new context today? On this two hundred thirty-first birthday of the USA, Americans are asked to display their understanding of right relationship with the environment and with other people, especially so-called enemies, who are really projections of our repressions. Happy 4th of July!

July 5 Thursday
The glamour of Pisces, whether of Hollywood or mysticism, can draw us towards what we believe to be our true nature with an emphasis on the exceptional. Inward understandings arrive while in the company of friends or while engaging with high tech products, like your blackberry or I-pod. We may be so intent on pursuing what we most care about prospering that we miss links to important personal patterns. Pisces suggests we attend to the underlying powers of nature, like the pull of the Moon, to maintain connections on multiple levels.

July 6 Friday
The early morning has a dreamy quality with a void of course Pisces Moon. At 8:57 am, MDT, she races into Aries, wanting freedom to go anywhere and say anything. Yet the need for security conflicts with this adventuresome spirit. Too much movement and verbal expression may result in out of control encounters. Agitations, however, can quicken the pace of our understanding and accepting certain concepts about our lives. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

July 7 Saturday
The Aries Moon entered her last quarter phase at 10:54 am, MDT. It’s time to take responsibility for how we use our knowledge and trust to bridge difficulties and deepen our skills, and to recognize openly the level of ease and fun we exhibit in such activities. This phase is a turning point of honoring what is and of getting a sense of a new direction to pursue. The Moon goes into that dispersing void of course period Sunday morning from 7:06 until 11:54, when she moves into the stability of Taurus. Inner longings can be addressed in a grounded way.
