New and Crescent Moon

July 16 Monday
The Leo Moon shows us how to circulate energy, how to find outlets to express ourselves. If we choose to perform based on the impulses felt, we can find ways through difficult times. What is expressed today personally and by others provides insight into the distortions of the past year, of what was withheld or blocked, of crazy, bizarre situations. Such revelations can offer an understanding that births a personal platform for imposing ideas of what may be needed to make room for new levels of consciousness.

July 17 Tuesday
The Moon moved into Virgo very early this morning, sharpening our emotional perception as she meets up with Venus at 5:40 am, MDT. Venus is in the shadow of her coming retrograde zone, demarcating expectations and values that easily stir us up emotionally. We want what we want and nothing short of that. We may also pick up on the undercurrent of others’ feelings. If these clash, as well as differing opinions, we may feel compelled to back out of such encounters. This may be a question of pleasing oneself versus pleasing others.

July 18 Wednesday
The Virgo Moon moved into her crescent phase last night at 11:11 pm, MDT. This period demands persistence in pursuing what is needed next to partake in whatever is emerging within this lunation cycle. Can we live up to expectations and make necessary adjustments? There is a strong urge to take purgative actions, to get rid of toxic behaviors. Finding a place of equanimity within oneself can be helpful as we might find ourselves saturated with psychic insights that can suck us into overdoing things.

July 19 Thursday
With a Virgo Moon we may have been able to keep up with the flow of emotional drama. But as she goes void of course this morning at 7:44, MDT, it may be wise to let go and uncover rough edges. Retreating for the morning is advised, along with some intense introspection. At 1:53 pm, the Moon moves into Libra, giving us a sense of how our expectations both keep us going and prevent us from seeing certain hidden factors. What we anticipate brings us evermore of the same. By opening to the unseen, the unknown, there is a possibility of a different future.

July 20 Friday
Friday’s Libra Moon reflects our ability to bridge gaps in our understanding, to compare differing ways of making connections, of bonding. The serenity that Libra offers can be disturbed today by a brassy, fidgety restlessness to explore new information. A common ground of tranquility might be found by approaching whatever is happening with a spirit of adventure. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

July 21 Saturday
With Saturday’s Libra Moon we are reminded to get off of the fence of indecision on this last day of the crescent Moon. We can have a clear awareness of how we draw to ourselves what we have expected and decide to do something about that. Just after midnight at 12:29 am, MDT, the Moon enters her first quarter phase. Going out beyond a comfort zone can be eased by assessing situations, being attentive to simple details, and heeding intuitive flashes. The Moon is in Scorpio on Sunday encouraging the investigation of new information about yourself.
