Last Quarter Moon and Balsamic Moon

September 3 Monday
We begin this Labor Day holiday with a Gemini Moon putting diverse data together into some matrix that offers a sense of connectivity. Even in letting go of tendencies to fragment ideas and behaviors, there is a strong drive to express independence, to detach and put distance between one’s conditioning and circumstances that draw one into a feeling of unity. A part of each of us wants to express what we personally need to advance, and we want others to understand and respond. At 8:32 pm, MDT, the Moon enters her last quarter phase, a time to recognize accomplishments and become aware of a new course of action.

September 4 Tuesday
The last quarter Gemini Moon suggests we change some attitudes in the way we assert ourselves if we want to access a new avenue for growth. Listen for non-conformist posturing. How we think of ourselves and communicate those thoughts is through a system of shared ideas and ideals. Our very process of communication demonstrates a pattern of unity. Isn’t it interesting how complexity theory shows how a deviating behavior can soon become a common one. So keep in mind today that your unique expressions may simply be links to commonly shared ones.

September 5 Wednesday
The Moon moved into Cancer early this morning, providing the images we may need to develop an emerging vision of what soul agenda we may next attend to that builds on the present structure of our lives. If we have a desire to progress in our lives no matter how old we are, a part of Cancer offers us an abundance of nurturing. Even while still within the shelter of that mythical crab shell, we can endlessly dream of and long for deeper meaner derived from the ongoing drama of human connections. Give yourself permission or encouragement to advance on this life journey.

September 6 Thursday
Thurday’s Cancer Moon might find us doing what needs to be done in order to explore new territory. At 11:04 am, MDT, the Moon goes void of course until tomorrow morning. During this time she drains herself of the life-supporting waters of Cancer. We, too, can use this time to release the parts of our past that we have outgrown. There is a marked sensitivity to whatever surrounds us during this period. Moods can be super-infectious. To avoid swinging the pendulum of emotional states, harbor yourself in an atmosphere of your choosing that supports how you want to feel.

September 7 Friday
Friday morning may have a feeling of loneliness with the void of course Cancer Moon, but moods can change rapidly. And we can expect that when the Moon moves into upbeat Leo at 10:59 pm, MDT. Just 36 minutes before that she enters her balsamic phase, oozing out any remnants of outgrown behavior that this cycle brought into our awareness and urging us to venture into speculative realms about this month’s pursuits. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 8 Saturday
The Leo balsamic Moon lends herself to speculating on the future. And as Venus goes stationary direct this afternoon in the sign of Leo, we may want to incite others with hopes for a mutually shared future. Our instincts may be keenly honed in on the spirit of what is being asked of us at this time. And we can be on fire with the power of change we feel in our dna, in the part of us that’s wired to evolve. On Sunday from 12:07 pm, until 7:10 pm, MDT, the Moon is voiding herself of Leo, forcing outward an expression of our insights. And after 7:10, when she moves into Virgo, she provides deep impressions of what’s to come.

Full and Disseminating Moon

August 27 Monday
The almost full Aquarius Moon reminds us that caring for our inner reality is what is most needed to reap the benefits this week will bring. What takes shape is simply the unfoldment of seeds intentionally planted and nourished. If the trials of the last two weeks were handled with trust, then trust will prosper. The Moon goes void of course at 7:23 pm, MDT, until 8:34 pm, when she leaves the airy, flowing robes of Aquarius and moves into the misty, filmy garbs of Pisces in which she will reach her fullness in the early morning hours, awakening us to what has hitherto been hidden.

August 28 Tuesday
The full Moon in Pisces was exact at 4:35 am, MDT, as she was eclipsed in the western horizon. She begins her full phase with a sharing of social and spiritual good will to all. For us, poised between the Sun and the Moon, is the possibility of a greater realization of a unifying field that encompasses all that exists, diffusing differences and connecting what, on the surface, seems completely unrelated. Look at how your personal activities today provide a template for understanding the routines of larger social groups as well as other forms of life on this planet.

August 29 Wednesday
The Pisces Moon highlights global challenges today and either clouds or enlightens our ability to heal the wounds that created the difficulties. What happens on larger scales is just a projection of what is happening on a personal level. If you are celebrating a feeling of internal wholeness, find at least one other person who mirrors that. The peace or joy that culminates in you, does so also in others, and together you create such a world. At 4:22 pm, MDT, the Moon begins to void herself of Pisces. This is like those times when it stops raining and the clouds separate, allowing the Sun to shine through, and you feel renewed.

August 30 Thursday
The Aries Moon supports holding the bigger picture of life while finding yourself at the center of it. Even if you see yourself at the edge of it, you and your actions are pivotal for an integration of your physical, mental, social, and spiritual life. You are the weaver of your experiences. With any single action you do or any encounter you have, be super tuned in for the nuances. Aries idealizes the surrounding world and has the radar for what enchants or draws one into the circle of life. Have you found your individual fire in the collective spirit?

August 31 Friday
The Aries Moon sheds light on that part of life that is impacted by a celebration of oneness. At 12:01 pm, MDT, the Moon enters her disseminating phase, a time when the recognition and understanding of what has come to fruition is displayed. It is not always easy to demonstrate the internal spark of spirit. But without taking that first step that expresses what you sense and think it to be, you’ll never get the feedback that validates what you are feeling. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 1 Saturday
The Taurus Moon brings memories of paradise lost. Do what you can to nurse along inner bliss. And when you feel it surge up, get out of the way so that it can spill out and surround you. You may even be able to sum up the benefits of past disillusionments. Understanding cultural and religious practices, as well as certain social rituals, like meeting someone for coffee or tea, as ways of celebrating union, fosters such engagements. Yet this Sunday they may seem obsessively repetitive. Focus on maintaining links to an internal idealized image of community.
