Moon Minute Disseminating and Last Quarter Moon

October 1 Monday
The disseminating Gemini Moon reveals a broader understanding of our social and emotional responsibilities. How do we handle our emotional need to be heard, to bounce our stuff off of another person and at the same time realize that our personal conceptions of reality may be totally different from that of others! It is in that strange mix of such sharing that overlooked factors emerge and inventive juices squirt out in a multitude of directions. And each party can help oneself to an assortment of ideas rather than keeping distance from them and their potential for social and spiritual alignment.

October 2 Tuesday
The Moon is voiding herself this morning of Gemini’s various intellectual takes on recent realizations. At 10:57 am, MDT, she moves into her home sign, Cancer, and gets support, perhaps publicly, to experience the overall feeling tone that brings greater clarity to current situations. Emotions are the guiding force today. And our attunement to them may seem like being too self-absorbed. Yet they can fuel motivation to pursue a vision with laser-like steadiness. This can help us feel special as we secure our own interests. Self-exertion does fulfill expectations!

October 3 Wednesda
The Cancer Moon entered her last quarter phase at 4:06 am, a time to take responsibility for what we have or have not changed. Take a hard look at all the facets of life you’ve been dealing with lately. Then praise yourself for having gotten through the rough stuff, and turn your attention to developing a strong center of selfhood that gets excited about differences and new ideas. At 2:41 pm, MDT, the Moon goes void of course until tomorrow afternoon. While the Moon pours out the warm, light-heartedness of Cancer, let go of taking things too personally.

October 4 Thursday
With the Cancer Moon void of course until the late afternoon, concentrate on one activity that reinforces a feeling of purpose. Tasks that involve a steady rhythm of doing can produce a spontaneous stream of inspiration like the mantra and the drill of spiritual ritual. Assembly line type work can be done in such a mode. Intention to catch some of the nurturing images that accompany a voiding Moon can provide a rich sensitivity to invisible realms. At 4:27 pm, MDT, the Moon moves into Leo. Take the insights of the last 24 hours and find a way to externalize them, even if just expressing them in a journal.

October 5 Friday
With this waning Leo Moon reflect on your core patterns in a spirit of playfulness that directs your focus on continuous change instead of getting bogged down by past behavior. Consider how the flame on a disintegrating candle can be passed on to another candle, even one that is totally different in shape, size, and color. Hold on to the fullness of your life while dealing with the rejected parts. Give yourself permission to explore new possibilities. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 6 Saturday
Saturday’s Leo Moon brings a spirit of openness to recognize and salute what others have created with a sense of how we all perform in some grand drama in which competition is only a tool to self-mastery or a means of fulfilling one’s dharma. At 10:12 pm, MDT, the Moon enters her balsamic phase, a time to unwind and let go of behaviors that take you out of your element. Open to new insights from your subconscious mind. The Moon voids herself of Leo’s heart-giving qualities from 11:28 pm, until 1:03 am, Sunday morning when she moves into Virgo, helping us live in the balsamic dream world in practical ways.
