Crescent and First Quarter Moon

October 15 Monday
The Sagittarius Moon entered her crescent phase at 2:17 am, MDT, a time to trust your own senses and intuition to grasp what is holding you back during this cycle, What is it that seems to be causing some kind of restriction. For the next four days we can find out how important it is to free ourselves of some limiting situation by summoning up courage to initiate or strengthen supportive comradeship to get over such bondage and go beyond it. Sharing perspectives on such matters can renew belief and hope that liberation from the consequences of some bad habits is possible.

October 16 Tuesday
With this Sagittarius Moon, it may seem like our minds are receiving a psychically transmitted newletter full of inspirational messages that can guide us into new territory. This can stimulate our inquisitive nature. Engage in inquiry with a playful or theatrical attitude to avoid being caught up in a test of endurance, let alone being a slave to the ups and downs of daily events. The Moon goes void of course at 6:32 pm, MDT, until after midnight. While the Moon is blowing out the fiery, exuberant flames of Sagittarius, expect the best; seek an ideal.

October 17 Wednesday
The Moon is in Capricorn. And if we don’t heed what is tantalizing us, we may end up going in circles with an old pattern. Hesitation is common during the crescent phase, yet we need to jump into an unknown pond if we want to manifest a new behavior. The structure of our inner being is begging us to try something else on for size. Listen to your hidden impulses. Let go of normal responses! Find a way to express what you are feeling as well as what you think about those feelings. Work the relationship between the two to get your juices flowing in a different direction.

October 18 Thursday
Thursday’s Capricorn Moon may be surprisingly ready to break free of old ways and receptive to challenges. As the day unfolds uncertainty can creep in if we feed fear. We just need to stay calm and flow with the emotional currents, refusing to get immersed in old consequences and “what if’s.” Physical circumstances change all the time. We commonly witness them just driving through town or shopping for groceries. We can alter and even transform our feelings and thoughts as easily as someone changes her appearance. The Moon does it by voiding herself of Capricorn during the early hours tomorrow.

October 19 Friday
The Capricorn Moon is void of course most of the morning. She entered her last quarter phase at 2:33 am, MDT. While she is stripping the visible half of her face of Capricorn’s conservative looks, we may reflect on how we have been irresponsible by not altering some behavior, by not being clear in our intent to change. At 10:52 am, the Moon enters inventive Aquarius, ready to take decisive action to leave the old carefree, escapist ways behind and operate in a completely different mode. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 20 Saturday
With this Aquarius Moon we can playfully stand aside from social dynamics that are troubling or we can stormily clear the air if we are willing to reveal our motives and heal any rifts. The Moon goes void of course at 1:36 Sunday afternoon, MDT, for most of that afternoon. This can be an unstable period as the Moon may be blowing out any alienation or unpredictable behavior of Aquarius. Be socially conscious. At 5:02 pm, Sunday, the Moon moves into Pisces, bringing sensitivity to what has vitality and to how we can preserve our best traits while birthing and developing new ones.

Balsamic Moon and New Moon

October 8 Monday
With Monday morning’s Virgo Moon we may feel compelled to do the right thing with our usual routines, yet abrupt and converging forces hem us in, jarring us awake to the seeds of new information coming out of our subconscious mind. In stead of awkwardly concealing what seems to be taking shape, foster its potential. Look for commonalities in new ideas or procedures. There is a wise, mature energy that Virgo can harness and choose to apply to emerging situations. Through sharing experiences such wisdom can be sustained while enriching others.

October 9 Tuesday
The Virgo Moon is void of course this morning, emptying out any of Virgo’s tendencies to use others merely as a means to personal goals without regard to any reciprocal service. As you receive from others, think about what you offer in turn. At three minutes to noon, MDT, the Moon leaves Virgo and enters the socially conscious realm of Libra. Logic and intuition clash around issues of ideals and ethics as we begin to shift from the end of a cycle to a new one. Listen to your internal conversation for clues as to how to find what is essential for you without ending up in dire circumstances.

October 10 Wednesday
The Libra Moon encourages us to participate in social activities. On this last day of the balsamic phase, we could benefit from dealing with emotional debris. There are places and ways to do this, just as we have containers and dumps for our physical waste. We need to claim our personal feelings, not in a manner that makes it seem as if others caused old anger issues. Their behavior may trigger it, but each of us is the only one who can get rid of it. If we expect others to deal with our rejected emotional states, we are not being responsible. At 11:01 pm, MDT, we have a new Moon in Libra with a theme of working out accountability issues.

October 11 Thursday
The new Moon phase began last night in Libra, regarding what we know to be true and how we deal with unattainable longings. Do we act ruthlessly to shape things the way we want them without regard for the consequences?. With Libra, justice will be pursued and eventually prevail. The Moon goes void of course at 5:22 pm, MDT, until shortly after midnight. As the Moon releases Libra and her tendencies to share responsibilities so that blame seems impossible, release passivity, laziness, and apathy so that you can acknowledge the need to personally justify your own behavior.

October 12 Friday
The Moon is in Scorpio, and Mercury went retrograde in this sign last night. Both are emphasizing our commonality. Besides being a sign about intimacy, close emotional ties, Scorpio is also a problem-solver. Use this energy to closely investigate problem areas and conflicting views. This can be a terrific learning experience that may test morals. And it can help to preserve old values and respect for social requirements. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 13 Saturday
The Scorpio Moon can help us work through what we would rather avoid. It can take us into the mysteries behind our emotional states. Scorpio brings us steady, reliable force to do this. At 3:24 pm, MDT, the Moon goes void of course until noon tomorrow. While she is unleashing the dark and sometimes vile waters of Scorpio, we can sort out what is unwanted within ourselves. Issues of worthiness and duty may come up during this time. At 12:58 pm, Sunday, the Moon moves into Sagittarius, helping us see through darkness and sort out certain emerging developments.
