Balsamic and New Moon

November 5 Monday
Monday’s Virgo Moon assists us in tuning into the social scene. And in the spirit of this lunation cycle, how we can foster the seeds of common brother and sisterhood that bring us together instead of separating us. Our programmed mind may want us to stick with the familiar assumptions. Yet these can suffocate our unknown mind, making it difficult to make connections to new ways. At 11:10 am, MST, the Moon goes void of course, raking out the loose and adaptable soil of Virgo and telling us that we can change just as the earth does. At 12:48 pm, the Moon enters the releasing balsamic phase, and at 4:47 pm she moves into graceful Libra.

November 6 Tuesday
The balsamic Libra Moon may find some of us caught up in exchanges based on truths and falsehoods. Some irresponsible or neglectful behavior may still be detaining us, and the time to let it go is long overdue. Getting rid of imprisoning patterns sometimes calls for desperate measures. Shake off dirty patterns as if you were the force behind a category 5 hurricane! Strip away what hinders you so that you can see the seeds of a different future. Make room for the “you” who hasn’t shown up yet. Tonight the Moon returns to the degree where she last met the Sun. Notice if the core of whom you think yourself to be is stronger than a month ago.

November 7 Wednesday
The invisible balsamic Libra Moon seeks the companionship of spiritual principles this morning. Find a spot that engages you in human interaction where you can be more the passive observer. Then pretend that you are a benevolent being of wiser intelligence than humans. What words of kindness would you telepathically transmit to those you encounter? Tonight the Moon meets up with Mercury for the first time since that planet went direct. This is a good time to evaluate some important idea you’ve been grappling with and/or some relationship issue.

November 8 Thursday
The Moon is now in Scorpio, hidden from our view, suggesting that some things remain concealed at this time. Yet instincts and intuition are vigilant. Deep hunches are best pursued. Scorpio is a time of shedding the old just as the balsamic Moon is shedding the aged light of an ending cycle. There are intimations of what is to come. And if we harness some self-discipline to retreat into meditative states, we may wade into potent feelings of inner courage to face shadow issues and not be trapped by them. Such a venture may improve one’s vision of the future.

November 9 Friday
Friday morning’s Scorpio Moon is a call for clearing out psychological blockages to free up vital forces. At 4:03 pm, MST, we have a new Moon with a theme of letting go of an old life pattern, perhaps one of denying one’s significance, or of cutting off one’s support systems, or of releasing a false sense of security, or simply of how one dissolves old ties. The month ahead takes us into the secrets of the past. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MDT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

November 10 Saturday
The new Scorpio Moon has been void of course since last night. Much of today may be clouded with confusion, especially around identifying what to address and what to let alone. An introspective mood is prevalent. At 5:59 pm, MST, the Moon moves into Sagittarius, stimulating us to get moving. The possibility of new conditions beckons. On Sunday tensions boil and need to be worked out around what to let slide, what to withdraw from, and what to provoke. To do this consider what fuels you to go the long distance. Sagittarius loves a quest.
