First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

April 14 Monday
The sunny Leo Moon reflects a sense of promise. Whatever we are presently going after ripens in meaning for us. We just need to be open to our imaginations and get deeper into the process of analyzing what we are envisioning lest we be sucked into delusion. Inspirations can fill in what is being developed, or we can allow them to flood us with daydreams that make little sense. It is important to hold on to your destination and allow the internal goodies that brighten your mind to fuel your momentum to arrive. The Moon will be void of course throughout the late night into tomorrow morning, swaying our inner resolve.

April 15 Tuesday
The Moon is moving away from the Leo spotlight and at 7:08 am, MT, she enters the shifting ground of Virgo. As we address various aspects of our inner life, we may come into a greater understanding of some of the karmic issues we’ve had to handle, like dependence on parents or other family members or how we might be the spokesperson articulating tribal issues, or the bridge between authority figures and their underlings. The information available today may help us retrace our past and provide insights for self-forgiveness and a renewal of hope.

April 16 Wednesday
The Virgo Moon entered her gibbous phase this morning at 5:23, MT. This phase is when it is important to reaffirm our commitment to attain some goal or realization. We are urged to do something to elicit verification of our expectations, even if it is extraordinary or outrageous behavior. Think of those who have thrown themselves wholeheartedly and with all of their being into achieving a spiritual goal, like those seeking freedom for Tibet, the end of war or oppression of any sort. What do your spiritual bonds compel you to do? Does the connection call forth internal or external action or both?

April 17 Thursday
The Virgo Moon has been void of course since late last night. She is sweeping out the vibrant earthly life of Virgo, much like our setting plants outside to grow into their potential. Our associations with the earth shift during springtime. And this afternoon Mercury, the planet of horticulture moves into the garden sign of Taurus. The Moon enhances our relationship with all things as she leaves Virgo and moves into Libra at 4:10 pm, MT. Here she reminds us to observe how we participate with change. Do we feel the impact of it and respond with anguish over loss or joy for new encounters?

April 18 Friday
The Libra Moon reflects an attunement to the inner feminine. Internal churning provides information about consequences of our decisions or about the happenstances fate has delivered. Sort out your feelings, paying close attention to those you’d rather not reveal to others. Remember that what makes us think or feel that we stand apart from others is an illusion. One only has to consider what is personally shared in self-help books and talk shows to realize this. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

April 19 Saturday
The Moon is in Libra, and the Sun entered Taurus this morning at 10:51 am, MT. Both of these signs belong to the goddess Venus and represent, in a highly developed expression, non-possessive and all-embracing love. The Moon begins to void herself of idealistic Libra at 2:55 pm until 3:00 am Sunday when she moves into Scorpio and fully receives the light of the Sun at 4:25 am as she is setting in the western sky. This full Moon clearly illuminates how we best encounter and understand the span of our human life by looking at it from the wisdom of our soul. External reality alone seldom brings complete satisfaction.
