New Moon and Crescent Moon

September 1 Monday
The new Moon moves into Libra at 5:44 am, MT. This early shift heightens a sense of things looking different in the morning, of moving into a whole different reality. With this Libra Moon, one’s inner life may sometimes be on its own thought wave, yet there is a strong tug to be in sync with the outer life’s engagements. Such a union can bring greater clarity to one’s perceptions. And this assists in identifying the good influences of others from the past and present. This lunation suggests we look at the interwoven cultural ropes that have led us to this moment.

September 2 Tuesday
With this Libra Moon, we may notice how we have collaborated with teachers over the years to usher in a social or psychological myth that we have been acting out. We can do this by examining the roots of situations that appear throughout the day in which we might be tooting our own cultural horn, strutting our stuff, bragging, or name-dropping. Libra likes to appear well-connected. This sign offers us opportunities to take a fresh look at how we play out roles to hopefully delight others. Some of this behavior may be commendable, and some may be overbearing.

September 3 Wednesday
The Libra Moon enters her crescent phase at 7:06 am, MT. At this stage there is a need to exert whatever effort it takes to forge ahead. In this cycle, to do that, we need to get an overview of o ur life-long learning experiences that have connected us to our inner spirit as well as exposed us to the best that our culture and civilization can offer. Such a comprehensive search can assist us in probing into our expectations and what has molded our responses to the world around us. The Moon voids herself of Libra’s social consciousness, increasing self-forgetting, from 11:09 am until 2:02 pm, MT. At that time she moves into the shadow world of Scorpio.

September 4 Thursday
With this Scorpio Moon, reflecting on our past may bring up overlooked facts that explain some dissonance between the inner self and the outer world, especially if we investigate our earliest memories of learning traditional, cultural stuff. We may discover the roots of our acumen in certain matters, as well as insights into how to change some negative feedback loops that come through our current expressions. Reversing some behaviors m ay generate more energy to cultivate virtues and talents that can be offered in ways that give you and others a boost.

September 5 Friday
The Scorpio Moon goes void of course at 9:46 am, MT, bringing an intrusion of unexpected events. The Moon flushes out the often heavy, emotional waters of Scorpio until after midnight when she enters vivacious Sagittarius. Throughout this day, we may feel haunted by ghosts of our minds. If we confront these, we may be able to wash out some unpleasant memories, and notice how with stains removed, their affect is neutralized. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 6 Saturday
Saturday’s Sagittarius Moon supports wearing out old stuck patterns. Such activity can lead to peace of mind. The Moon enters her first quarter phase Sunday morning at 8:04 am, MT. This is a call to go out and do whatever will bring the expression of your spirit and passion more fully into those skills that serve not only you but others as well. During this second quarter of the cycle, we need to be alert for chances to assert our instincts for gathering whatever invigorates us. By paying attention to intuitive cues, we can learn to get right the externalization of our spirit.
