First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

September 8 Monday
We start the day with a potent Sagittarius Moon confronting us with some “in-your-face” truths. Be alert to moments demanding some kind of surrender or ego-busting. There’s no place to hide, and, if there were, it would only make matters worse. The Moon goes void of course at 10:42 am, MT, for three hours of releasing the huge Sagittarian appetite for freedom and companionship. These two desires can sometimes be at odds. Strong ideas may excessively compete for attention. At 1:45 pm, the Moon moves into stabilizing Capricorn.

September 9 Tuesday
With Tuesday’s Capricorn Moon, it can be effective to get in gear with those techniques that accomplish the tasks you have in mind. By using a tact that is personally handy and skillful to achieve some objective, you may bring a sense of delight to both yourself and others. Take advantage of opportunities to unwind and compose yourself. Unpleasant aspects may arise if one has not taken the time to think seriously about the purposes and ramifications of one’s endeavors. To avoid stirring up trouble, be cognizant of social obligations and the interdependent factors they sustain.

September 10 Wednesday
With this morning’s Capricorn Moon, feelings of uncertainty may arise, as she goes void of course at 7:15 am, MT, until after midnight. For most of the day the Moon is steadily and meticulously licking off the solid reality of earthy Capricorn, much like a cat who has just rolled in the dirt. During this time it may be arduous to discriminate between facts and imaginings. Boundaries are easily blurred while the Moon is voiding herself, and an array of distortions about what one is capable of learning and achieving could trigger destructive self-doubts. To avoid those, drop self-indulgence and focus on the whole picture.

September 11 Thursday
The Moon is in Aquarius, and at 9:34 am, MT, she enters her gibbous phase. At this point in the lunation cycle, we need to play along with what is developing by using a technique that comes naturally, or simply that works even if it is incongruous with one’s nature. The focus is on improvements. Look everywhere possible for them, and for the most advancement, listen intently to your inner council. It is the source energy within, the divine feminine, that guides us from the past into the future. There is a push-pull impulse today for rebuilding our core relationships that can distract us with a glitzy appeal.

September 12 Friday
With this gibbous Aquarius Moon, multi-tasking can come easily if one’s intent is on results and if one makes use of whatever and whomever is available to help. We may try to tune out non-essentials, but an overriding strangeness competes and connects us to many realms that compel us to juggle seemingly unrelated phenomenon, which may indeed surprise us if we explore them and search for underlying connectivity. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 13 Saturday
The hidden, very pregnant gibbous Moon moved into Pisces at 10:04 am, MT. Her state suggests we focus on our veiled powers while alert for opportunities to get a grasp on matters of spirit and of our own mental skills. We may be well aware of how our past has determined the present and perhaps the future. What we have experienced and learned is what really matters. And that inwardly felt reality and its associations do not always match cultural and societal assumptions and expectations. Sunday may reveal our comfort level in psychic and other realities -- those that the full Moon early Monday morning mirrors brightly.
