Gibbous and Full Moon

May 4 Monday
The Virgo Moon reminds us of all the conditioning and patterns that have formed the habits that get us through the day. Unfortunately repetitive, long-standing behaviors may not produce something entirely new that a part of us wants to experience, unless we’re willing to take a tangent from the usual activity. We may realize today just how willing we are to deviate from habits to initiate some basic shift in how we deal with obstacles in our path. Such an awareness can help us change some automatic responses. At 7:31 pm, MT, the Moon starts to void herself of determined Virgo, leaving us open to cosmic, impressionable thoughts.

May 5 Tuesday
The Moon moved into Libra early this morning and entered her gibbous phase. This is a time to stay focused on some ideal when routines can lead one to easily forget the potential of fully shaping or realizing something near at hand. Libra can be like a rainbow bridge with pots of gold at either side full of self-knowledge. We need to trust that we are standing in the middle of a multi-colored bridge of light and we simply need to dance to the unknown side. Finding the melodious connections that resonate will get one across. This requires sensitivity to how you get messages from your soul.

May 6 Wednesday
The gibbous Libra Moon is attuned to the expanding inner light showing various social roles one has played and indicating that it is time to wrap up some of them so that one can whole-heartedly take up a different relationship, primarily with oneself. If we have been diligently working on discovering parts of ourselves yet unknown, the shape of one of them is coming into view today. To every part of us there is a season. It is a grace to each in its time, and Libra can tactfully and astutely point that out. As the Moon sheds herself of Libra tonight, we may be highly receptive to her assessments in our dreams.

May 7 Thursday
We have a void of course Libra Moon this morning. During this time while the Moon is blowing off the imperturbable equilibrium of Libra, we may find our longings unattainable. It suffices to just take in the greater view of situations. At 10:48 am, MT, The Moon moves into Scorpio where the secrets of one’s soul can be found. To discover them, fears need to be released so that one can meld one’s energies into a deeper inner matrix where rich, mysterious resources abound and, oddly, something can be seen in a fresh new light.

May 8 Friday
With this Scorpio Moon we can play around with the structure of emerging discoveries using our six senses. The exact full Moon occurs at 10:01 pm, MT. Over the next four days we may realize how characteristics or qualities we see as separate from us are really a reflection of us, good or bad. Such a revelation can bring out hidden possibilities of sharing a richer creative energy that recycles and rejuvenates. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 1:00 to 1:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

May 9 Saturday
The full Scorpio Moon went void of course at 12:49 pm, MT, flushing out the confident and competitive edge of this insightful sign for six hours. During this time we can refresh our outlook on the future. Tonight at 7:49 pm, the Moon moves into Sagittarius, making it easier for us to see the larger forces at work and suggesting that we reconsider some of our expectations. On Sunday we may feel like we want to include everything and everyone in our adventures. A need for dependence and independence join together to reorganize some daily habit.
