Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

October 12 Monday
There is a concentration of power with this Leo Moon to enliven us to lead ourselves away from old, no longer useful ways towards a vision of sunny days filled with exciting and invigorating activities. Such a discovery requires some self-overcoming which is not easy with Leo’s lack of self-introspection. Yet Leo’s talent at giving heart gifts to others easily produces the ability to playfully go about finding colorful touches that spotlight a yellow brick road to take. With Jupiter stationary tonight many veils may part to broaden our perception.

October 13 Tuesday
This Leo Moon is very demonstrative of accumulated information about some group activity. Inhibitions may be dismissed in order to accommodate good times. We may be inclined to take on many roles to broaden our experience which is fine as long as they are in sync with the rhythms of our hearts. Strange moods may be a warning! At 3:21 pm, MT, the Moon begins to void herself of Leo’s extravagance for the rest of the day. During this time we may be unable to hold our own space as conditions disintegrate. Pop any illusion-bubbles, and play with inspirations that come your way.

October 14 Wednesday
With this Virgo Moon we can easily pick apart aspects of some habits that we wish to discard and dispose of them. At 12:48 pm, MT, the Moon enters her balsamic phase. This is a time for distilling fresh approaches to life, dreaming up a new vision. Only denial and deception block this process. And we can easily let them ooze out of our lives if we are willing to admit their presence. Virgo can help us handle the complexities of old and new ways coming together if we spend time breathing ourselves deeper into the spark of our inner life, bringing nourishment to seeds of future possibilities.

October 15 Thursday
This balsamic Virgo Moon returns this evening to the degree of the last new Moon, stirring up thoughts of service and sacrifice. Are your present activities good for you, for others, and for the planet? If there is a resounding yes to all three, then find a way to share the excitement of that. If an honest no to any of the three erupts into your consciousness, find a place of solitude where you can examine how things are different from what you wanted. There is internal power to release the pressure valve on sacrificial behavior and ignite something magnificent!

October 16 Friday
The hidden Moon moved into the socially –linked energies of Libra early this morning. A loaded agenda of engagements may feel appealing yet be too much. There is, however, a bundle of energy available today, enough for each of us to pursue our desires. It is wise to channel it towards completions of tasks that will enhance our sensitivities towards the germinating seeds of tomorrow’s new Moon. Much information about getting out from under obstacles to a shared reality is available. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 17 Saturday
With this Libra Moon cloaked in darkness, we can easily shift with ever subtle change in the day’s current, giving ourselves over to anything on demand. Hopefully in such a state of surrender, we will find ourselves in one of those magical spots without the boundaries of time and space when the new Moon occurs at 11:33 pm, MT. This new lunation draws our attention to seeing things in their time and letting go of artificial, ephemeral values linked to them. How do we honor the moment yet know that infinite moments of ripe vibrancy spiral incessantly through us? That’s something to ponder with Sunday’s Scorpio Moon.
