Crescent and First Quarter Moon

January 18 Monday
With this new Pisces Moon deeply felt emotions may suddenly bubble up. They may seem to have reappeared after being hidden or lost for some time, coming from some distant past. They may need to be released, cleared away after informing us about ways we have deviated from some truth -- not necessarily some factual, rational reality, but rather a total truth that encompasses feelings and intuition. Spirit, the whole of us that seeks this existence in the human body, knows the complete truth, and today we have the opportunity to awaken to more of it, to see through illusions.

January 19 Tuesday
The Pisces Moon entered her crescent phase early this morning. This is a time when we are magnetically drawn to what has emerged and what is needed next. Yet there is hesitation and struggle to make a decision. Feelings are begging for something to be expressed but how to do that is the problem. Doubt and insecurity build up today, and the inner pressure they produce may explode this evening if we attempt to cut ourselves off from our emotions. The Sun enters Aquarius at 9:28 pm, MT, illuminating how dreary the status quo can be. Seek to release regimented behavior just as we surrender to sleep and the Moon completes dressing herself in Pisces tonight.

January 20 Wednesday
The Pisces Moon is voiding herself of the vast, primordial sea of unconsciousness most of this morning. It is best to spend this time alone and trust the instincts that arise. At 11:36 am, MT, the Moon moves into Aries, a sign that is typically revitalized by new prospects. With Mars retrograde, look for them in your private thoughts and feelings about re-creating something. Impatience comes with no action. Be tolerant! Feelings of frustration are triggered by restraint. Identify what regenerates your energy and gives you a sense of personal power. What pushes you into the driver’s seat of your own life?

January 21 Thursday
This Aries Moon corresponds to a skip down memory lane. Pondering on old dreams can present a quick look at one’s motivations from way back when to the present day. Throughout the day there is an ease that lends itself to appreciating tradition and old things. Such attentiveness provides a flow of information that supports making a decision about how to restore and preserve a deep communion with one’s passions. On the physical level Aries can be restless; it wants to act now. Mental activity can be the second best movement for this direct, confident sign. And at this time our minds may be quite productive.

January 22 Friday
With this Aries Moon we may be bursting with ideas that recharge some personal ideals. The Moon goes void of course at 12:46 pm, MT, for almost nine hours. During this time while the Moon is snuffing out Aries bright thoughts, we may receive inspiration for how to balance our physical, emotional and spiritual sides. A void of course Moon is ideal for examining one’s inner self and/or performing meditative practices. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

January 23 Saturday
The Taurus Moon entered her first quarter phase last night. This stage is supportive of showing what one values and enjoys doing. In this cycle we are challenged to hold a steady course in expressing our passions as indicated by our emotions, channeling them into good works. Today our determination is tested to seize those best moments for measuring our capacities. Sunday the sincerity of our feelings may get confronted by a mishmash of complex situations. The Taurus Moon sometimes displays maudlin expressions of sentiments that detract from their authenticity.
