Crescent and First Quarter Moon

February 15 Monday
With this new Pisces Moon, suppressed, repressed, or hard-to-hold-onto emotions may suddenly and unexpectedly erupt and escape any stabilization. Deeply rooted fears may show up accompanied by self-pity. Clearing out psychological blockages and releasing old ties to uncomfortable emotional states may produce a liberating change. A provocative energy permeates the day, drawing our attention to major difficulties that feel like they are ours, and ours alone to deal with. Whatever feelings emerge, it is best to give them free rein and embrace them so that we can experience them fully.

February 16 Tuesday
The Pisces Moon goes void of course at 7:32 am, MT, for ten hours of evaporating the mists that veil some new awareness about our emotional patterns. Their images may buoy to the surface, making it easier for us to perceive them if we take this time to look for them. At 5:30 pm, the Moon moves into the uncensored world of Aries. Many ways of being are available to Aries. By choosing activities carefully based on observations, we may practice being the ideal we seek to be. Fears and frustrations may show up tonight. Certain sacrifices may generate future benefits.

February 17 Wednesday
With an Aries Moon one can feel comfortable venturing solo. Whether we’re alone or not, certain emotional patterns are converging today. Aries’ keen perception can see how these feelings group and operate together at certain levels. At 9:51 pm, MT, the Moon enters her crescent phase. Over the next three days we are magnetically drawn to what has emerged and what is needed next. By contrasting and comparing our emotional states since Sunday, and weaving them together, we can decide on a way of dealing with them that can have us feeling like we’re living in heaven on earth.

February 18 Thursday
The Aries Moon can be defensive and impulsive when it comes to fulfilling desires. Sometimes this requires re-tracing one’s steps or re-formulating plans. By using our imaginations today we might try out some new approaches and use how we feel about them as a hydrometer for choosing a plan of action. Issues of oversensitivity, self-defense, objectivity, and of trusting one’s inner truth may surface. The Moon goes void of course at 8:52 pm, MT, for seven hours of snuffing out the muscle energy of Aries. Our go-get-it energy weakens during this time but not our pursuit of dreams supported by the Sun in Pisces.

February 19 Friday
With this Taurus Moon we are ushered into a pristine way of seeing things, starting with the common basic needs of all people. Today’s primary challenge is to follow natural processes and to shape them to fit one’s personal needs. Taurus calls for respecting nature in our own personal way that engages in the collective challenge to renew the earth resources. This Taurus Moon brings greater awareness of our wellbeing and how our feelings can reinforce that. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

February 20 Saturday
Today’s Taurus Moon highlights any unrealism, impracticality, or impossibility. Taurus prefers physical substance or at least an obvious value in its pursuits. If we have been making links with our feelings, we may be able to see all sides of them and transmute certain emotional patterns today. Early Sunday morning the moon voids herself of Taurus, leaving us feeling very lazy. At 11:47 am, MT, Sunday, the Moon moves into adaptable Gemini, and at 5:42 pm, she enters her first quarter phase, a time for us to show how we value our emotions and use them to not only guide us but also to celebrate us.
