Gibbous and Full Moon

February 22 Monday
The Gemini Moon can dive deeply into emotional states, flying through stormy feelings. She has the capacity to study the triggers and nuances of emotions. We can tap into such skills and do mental gymnastics with the patterns and conditions involved, especially if we have someone with whom to bounce around our thoughts about our feelings, someone who can help us work out the tensions. Sometimes it’s enough to have a witness, and sometimes we need a companion who will motivate us to change. Today we may find that so many of our feelings are variations on old themes. Are they a measure of good news or of lost causes?

February 23 Tuesday
With this Gemini Moon we may easily tap into a vision of how our emotions have colored our thoughts and triggered our actions. Often it is our innermost feelings that have moved us along the avenues of life that we have taken. At 10:29 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course for six hours of clearing out the wanderlust of Gemini. During this time, introspection can clear our minds of doubt about future actions. At 4:29 pm, the Moon moves into the nurturing encouragement of Cancer. By attuning to our instincts, we can be guided by the insights that come from deep inside us. This requires toughness and unquestioning trust.

February 24 Wednesday
The Cancer Moon builds cozy nesting spots stocked with everything needed. By being attentive to our feelings, we too can position ourselves comfortably and recognize that that is so by how special certain moments feel. Complacency may be apparent today as too much of a good thing takes over, leaving us mellow and passive with the threat of overindulging. Be sensitive to the play of extremes; let your imagination play out the possible scenes of bingeing so that you don’t have to actually go there. Notice what appeals to your basic emotional needs and how images in your mind can satisfy them.

February 25 Thursday
The Cancer Moon entered her gibbous phase early this morning. During this period of time before Sunday’s full Moon, it is important to stay focused on the priorities of this cycle. They have to do with strong emotional yearnings that are the coalescence of feelings that have stood out over the past week. Some of these emotions might be outworn and need to be thrown out. It’s those juicy ones full of potential that need special attention. At 10:48 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course for over seven hours of rinsing off the big-hearted embraces of Cancer. At 6:08 pm, she moves into the heat of Leo’s emotional outbursts!

February 26 Friday
With this Leo Moon there is a zealousness to get a clear take on what our emotions are signaling. Their external forms do not always mirror the internal ones. We need to draw them together in ways that make their core message shine. Leo has the courageous heart to passionately express what is felt. Such vocalization can come out as a purr, a roar, a hiss, or a screech. There is strength, nobility, and a command of attention in whatever is expressed. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

February 27 Saturday
The Leo Moon goes void of course at 1:15 pm, MT, for almost five hours of stamping out the fierce pride of Leo. During this time it may be difficult to hold one’s own. Thoughts and feelings easily disintegrate. At 5:52 pm, the Moon moves into the penetrating mind of Virgo. On Sunday morning at 9:38 am, we have a full Moon, beginning a period of revelations about how our emotions provide many internal and external connections to several ways of being that can elevate our spiritual perspective. We can gather a bunch details that provide a coherent inner picture of the landscape of our emotional world.
