First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

March 22 Monday
With this Gemini Moon instability and vulnerability seem to dwell on every corner. And if we’re versatile enough, we may smoothly slide around those uncomfortable states and leave them behind to pursue some attraction that has an emotional investment. A problem may be that what we thought was accomplished or mastered and available suddenly becomes useless. New channels of activity must be utilized to get in and out of situations. The curious nature of Gemini may help us find them. The Moon voids herself of inquisitive Gemini from 7:49 pm, MT, until 3:16 am, when she moves into calming Cancer.

March 23 Tuesday
The Cancer Moon entered her first quarter phase at 5:00 am, MT. At this point in the cycle a decision is required, one that sets into action a seeking for our true emotional orientation. What kind of vigilant tending would lead to an abiding sense of happiness? Can we create a blueprint to guide us there? This morning we may be confronted with an inevitable need to eliminate some non-supportive behavior and strengthen whatever feeds our emotional well-being. Facing up to life’s bigger questions, like, “Why are feelings important? What are they telling us?” may show us our ultimate orientation.

March 24 Wednesday
This quarter Cancer Moon indicates a change in orientation. What is it that needs to be done to fill the adjacent quarter with light? For us the question is “What is needed to arrive at a sustainable feeling of happiness?” How do we join in that process? Plenty of feelings are being stirred up to go with one’s instincts. Yet there’s a certain quirkiness to try something innovative. Sometimes Cancer can seem irrational or mysterious, alternating arbitrarily between being effusive and being withdrawn, earning the label of moody. Don’t fret, today is like walking a tightrope between the past and the future.

March 25 Thursday
The Moon moved into self-obsessive Leo early this morning. We may feel like doing just about anything to protect and support ourselves. Internal tensions may produce overreactions. Bursts of energy need to be channeled and regulated by the wisdom of our past experiences. Not changing, however, is not an option. Dark thunderous rumblings with flashes of lightning stir in our minds as harbingers of transitions to be made. We need to get fired up over the importance of change. Life is a drama full of fresh angles consuming our attention all the time. Celebrate those moments with joyous enthusiasm for what might be.

March 26 Friday
With this Leo Moon we may find a ritual that generates a personal rhythm for sustaining a desirable emotional state. At 2:26 pm, MT, the Moon enters her gibbous phase, a time for playing along with what is developing to reach a goal. This cycle indicates a need to constantly link our outer experiences with our inner, especially our feelings. Joining our external reality with our internal one can put us in touch with a greater awareness of our human condition. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

March 27 Saturday
The Moon moved into scrutinizing Virgo early this morning. Virgo can get entrapped by circumstances and then easily conditioned or brainwashed. Today we need to detect which direction our feelings and senses want to pursue. And no matter how troublesome it promises to be, we need to trust that we can succeed. Sunday calls for adjustments in our feelings and thoughts. It is best to verbalize emotions and sensitize thoughts for clarity. Unsettling moments may lead to the avoidance of reality. Virgo can help us be conscientious and supports our being methodical and systematic in our approach to situations.
