New and Crescent Moon

April 12 Monday
The Pisces Moon goes void of course at 6:51 am, MT, for forty minutes of rinsing off thin-skinned Pisces. At 7:31 am, the Moon moves into honest, above-board Aries, and with this Moon we may feel ready to jump into a new phase of activity, driven to be all of what we can be. But first, during this balsamic phase, we need to get into the right head-space, one that aspires to excellence. Our bright side needs to get in sync with our dark side. This may involve tests of the heart, noticing if any inner needs are not being taken care of by our external reality and taking care of them.

April 13 Tuesday
With today’s Aries Moon issues of bewilderment may prevail. Issues around oversensitivity and trust in one’s inner reality rear their head. Staying calm if anxiety lurks may take some serious effort. Aries is good at taking stock of present conditions. This may be limited based on current awareness levels. Try to minimize hiding stuff, even if only from yourself. Experiment with ideas in your imagination. Aries propensity for action may lead to recklessness on this last day of a Moon cycle. It’s ideal now to have the brain be active with envisioning expectations for oneself for the next thirty days.

April 14 Wednesday
At 6:29 am, MT, we have a new Moon in the sign of Aries, having a feeling of promise with restlessness to fulfill some expectation or longing. To identify the promise, notice polarities that show up in components of your personality. Where is there restfulness to counter the edginess? What is coming out of dormancy and what is fully alert? The Moon begins to void herself of feisty Aries at 1:23 pm, for over three hours. During this time we may become emotionally volatile or overwhelmed, not knowing exactly what to do. It’s best to align oneself with the highest ideals. At 4:55 pm, the Moon moves into stable Taurus.

April 15 Thursday
This Taurus Moon is telling us to draw deeply from inner resources. Our unconscious and subconscious mind bears access to worlds beckoning us to fathom. We may not feel as motivated to engage with these worlds as we do with our outer reality, but such a journey will help us see the external mythic projections more clearly. The Moon meets up with Mercury at the degree it goes retrograde this coming Saturday, indicating there is helpfulness and thoughtfulness regarding our grasp of earthly matters as well as support to step back from external matters to explore what is far inside of us.

April 16 Friday
The Taurus Moon idealizes natural beauty, but we must be careful about the conditions under which we put it on a pedestal. We can become overcritical and not see something emerging into existence, like the potential of the ugly duckling. Look for ways to pair things and behaviors so that they complement each other in a radically new manner. Taurus sometimes lacks originality but can arrive at it through industrious modifications. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

April 17 Saturday
The Moon is in Gemini this weekend, bringing greater awareness of the polarities that surround us and how to satisfactorily bring them together. There’s plenty of space for getting around emotional obstacles and socializing today. At 11:40 pm, MT, the Moon enters her crescent phase, when persistent effort to bring in the new consciousness of a lunation is called for if the cycle is to bear fruit. This cycle suggests we be on a wavelength that is synchronizing us into getting in rapport with our inner and outer realities and perhaps with certain people in our lives. The struggle to harmonize external habits with internal chatter could bear results worth celebrating.
