Gibbous and Full Moon

June 21 Monday
The Sun appeared to stand still at 5:28 am, MT, as it entered the sign of Cancer, and the Moon moved into Scorpio at 6:14 am. Entering either of these two water signs can be like going into a whole new reality. And on this solstice it may feel like the very best in one’s surroundings is needed to face an amassing of pressures for collective change. Catching moments to feed all the loveliness in our lives can secure a holy space for what we most care about. This could be a thoughtful comment to an acquaintance or sharing a personal liberating event with someone special or even those common things that join us altogether.

June 22 Tuesday
The Scorpio Moon enters her gibbous phase at 11:02 am, MT. We are at the stage in a cycle where it is best to put all of our strength, our accumulated energy, into doing what seems right to attain some fulfillment, enlightenment, or realization. Such achievement can happen over the next three days if we follow our impulses about what brings us most fully into experiencing the real world. In this cycle that is especially true regarding the experience of being in communion with the spirit within, with our greater self to completely participate in creating our reality. Scorpio reveals the depths of our true worth.

June 23 Wednesday
We may feel withdrawn with this Scorpio Moon that goes void of course at 9:32 am, MT. That’s when she unplugs the drain and lets enriching Scorpio flow off of her. During the next three hours an attitude of letting go can help us see a situation anew. At 12:10 pm, the Moon moves into freely playful and gregarious Sagittarius. New insights emerge about experiencing life more fully. They provide thoughts about strategic movements within the context of how one is in social settings. And they also suggest adjustments for aligning emotionally to the fellowship encountered.

June 24 Thursday
This morning we may feeling like having a little fun with this Sagittarius Moon, especially if it involves expressing some hidden sentiments that bring about socially exchanging some important information quite thoroughly. Fun is imperative today, as there is some rather heavy negativity that can be just downright depressing. To keep a joyful outlook, look at experiences, even the dull ones, as data that fill in the mosaic of your life. Much inspiration is available to put a flair into social encounters and to see how things both boring and uplifting merge into some fuller existence.

June 25 Friday
With today’s Sagittarius Moon we may feel a need to justify some spiritual motivation to restructure the way in which we are participating in some group experience. Overextending oneself often leads to exhaustion, and there may be a lot of that going around. The Moon goes void of course at 5:33 pm, MT, snuffing out the hopeful, enthusiastic spirit of Sagittarius. For the next three hours an easy-going stance is beneficial. At 8:21 pm, the Moon moves into responsible Capricorn. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

June 26 Saturday
We had a full Capricorn Moon at 5:30 MT, this morning. Emotions run deep and intense with this lunar eclipse, foreshadowing issues of charm and enjoyment coming up with the Solar eclipse in two weeks. This eclipse shows the darkness around situations where the individual takes on larger collective forces. And in this cycle reveals the restrictions inherent in our social activities and how we respond to them. Sunday’s revelations focus on social problems and how you resolve them. Does your participation bring pleasure or trigger awkwardness? How warm and thrilling is life in the presence of others?

Crescent and First Quarter Moon

June 14 Monday
Today’s Cancer Moon portrays subdued feelings. Understanding how one may have restricted a full, blown-up experience of living is sometimes a hard pill to swallow, and ingesting such insights is just another opportunity to have a complete experience. But reading and thinking about it is not the same as being totally in it. The Moon goes void of course at 6:38 pm, MT, rinsing off the self-containment of Cancer for over three hours. During this time we can be extremely receptive to the often subtle impulses coming from our subconscious mind. Listen for ways in which you block fully participating in life and or for ways to nurture complete engagement.

June 15 Tuesday
The Leo Moon brings celebratory news about unfamiliar arenas to explore. Excitement can help us get over any hesitation that the crescent Moon generates. The Moon enters that phase at 1:48 pm. Now it takes some effort to seize those fleeting moments aglow with promise yet not fully developed that can lead to playing in a bigger sandbox. The Leo Moon provides some assistance. Leo needs to be surrounded by the whole world. Leo can be gregarious, enjoying a gathering of a broad spectrum of people. On the down side, Leo rarely sees anything lacking in her or himself.

June 16 Wednesday
With this Leo Moon it seems like there are many tantalizing opportunities to participate in, heart and soul. Leo likes joining in, but also likes to impose his vision of reality on the scene instead of accepting the situation for what it is and being with it. Instead of seizing the moment to be clearly aware of its pristine essence, Leo’s first inclination is to layer it with his own image in lieu of waiting for it to coalesce, missing its central flame. Can the part of us that is represented by Leo recognize when we are out of our element and need to surrender to an unknown way of being?

June 17 Thursday
The Virgo Moon has the concentration power needed at this time to stay focused on the critical attributes of experiencing the surrounding environment. By drawing upon the powers of all of our senses at any point in a chosen activity, we might better discern the unique perspective that participation offers over just merely observing. Our emotions can be excited by seeing life as an exercise in gathering sensations. A challenge worth succeeding at is to bounce one’s perceptions of some experience off another person today. Such a discussion may bring out some interconnective factors.

June 18 Friday
With this Virgo Moon it is best to take all the information we have methodically gathered about our experiences, accepting and rejecting elements according to our preferences and decide what we are going to work on over the next week regarding our social participation. As the day wanes, some structure for proceeding with such activity may emerge. If we don’t decide on a course of action, something may be marginalized. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

June 19 Saturday
Late last night the Virgo Moon entered her first quarter phase, deciding that it’s time to assume one’s personal power and take control of encountering the real world free of past encumbrances. Early this morning the Moon moved into Libra with high hopes of making some changes for the better. For the rest of the weekend there are good chances of being exposed to pleasing social rituals and being able to easily absorb the messages being shared. There may, moreover, be some spacey vibes making it difficult to sense what is real. And Libra can be easily duped.

Balsamic and New Moon

June 7 Monday
With this Aries Moon our competitive edge gets dulled a bit, perhaps because we’re taking on more than we can handle. Or clumsiness settles in due to cockiness or lack of experience. Self-realizations point to changing attitudes. Aries’ impulsiveness can lead to rash decisions. A long leash may be handy where space can be found to vent and experiment, but the curtailment of being tethered prevents troublesome consequences. The Aries Moon is adept as a loner. Today, however, the company of a circle of like-minded persons can stimulate pregnant ideas that often come during the last quarter phase.

June 8 Tuesday
Vivid imaginary adventures abound this morning, especially with the Moon going void of course at 7:13 am, MT. While the Moon shakes off peripatetic Aries, our minds shoot off in multiple directions. At 9:41 am, the Moon moves into down-to-earth Taurus, and at 3:13 pm, enters her balsamic phase. The next three and half days are best for gathering together our experiences of gains and tokens that have generated many of our intimate sharing moments, those that often live on in our conscious memory. These recollections can brew and ferment in our minds and produce a vision of a new fusion of social norms.

June 9 Wednesday
With this Taurus Moon our minds may get adorned with romantic meanderings of the past in various social milieus. Actually the day is abloom with mixed messages caught up in a battle between fantasy and reality. There may be a showdown between our belief-based assumptions and our practical, daily procedural thinking. We may feel a need to justify our behavior because of our perceptions of the human condition. We may get overworked and exhausted because we are so stimulated by spiritual motives. Taurus can be driven by obsessive desires. When these are pursued, often there comes a realization that what was sought was present all the time.

June 10 Thursday
This Taurus Moon brings glimpses of how we mix our memories with our imaginations, or of how recollections trigger new envisioning. The earthy wisdom of Taurus may dictate responsibility to one’s chores, but there are vying contradictory inclinations to leave the daily work burdens and find seclusion. This is especially true while the Moon is voiding herself of insistent Taurus from 1:50 to 4:11 pm, MT. After those two and a half hours she moves into indiscriminate Gemini, and we may become even more fascinated with the facility of our minds at coming up with novel, free-spirited possibilities.

June 11 Friday
The balsamic Gemini Moon is hidden from our view, even at night. Think of her as having dived deep inside to commune with some new impulse about to be birthed. Her reality is not our earth-based, physical world but that of the unconscious realms. For us, this is like free-floating in the air in the pitch darkness of a cloud-cloaked night with no heavenly or man-made lights. We may feel anxious, disoriented, and distrustful until we seek and find another reality. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

June 12 Saturday
The New Moon occurred at 5:15 am, MT. She initiated a cycle of becoming more aware of how we engage in those interpersonal moments of celebrating our reality. Do we escape into our personal fantasy world or are we sensitive to those around us and engage with them in ways that make our imaginations reality? At 5:35 pm, the Moon spends a little over two hours voiding herself of Gemini’s interchange between the outer material world and the mental realm. At 7:50 pm, she moves into the highly individualistic and self-contained space of Cancer for the rest of the weekend, giving us a personal view of the converging forces and collective challenges we’ll encounter during this cycle.
