The First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

August 16 Monday
The Scorpio Moon invites us to slip deeper into the multitude of interpretations of one or two personal behaviors. At 12:14 pm, MT, the Moon enters her first quarter phase. At this time the Moon suggests we pursue the act of developing an understanding of why we respond to some knowledge the way we. What are the deeper implications of our reactions to some teachings or advice? If we accept them on face value, might we be condescending to snubbing wisdom that dwells within us? There is such a proliferation of knowledge. How do we pierce to the heart of it all and fly free with a truth?

August 17 Tuesday
The Moon leaped into Sagittarius’s abundant realm of ideas during the night hours. Throughout this day we can collect all sorts of information and make sense of it! All we have to do is pay attention! Deactivate your personal automatic cruise button. Emerge from trance states! They certainly are helpful at times, but today they’re like smoke screens. Sagittarius has a natural inclination to go inward to connect to an inner code for living. This can lead to an inattentiveness to externals. To stay alert indulge in some wild behavior, but keep it simple, like concocting some unusual meal.

August 18 Wednesday
With this Sagittarius Moon there is a need to recharge one’s mental capacities in order to get from one place to another. For Sagittarius that means surrendering to the guidance of a higher order, finding a way in which one gets feedback that indicates that what one is doing is working well according to some spiritual code. Such an acquiescence gives one access to all sorts of information that arrives in a perfect and beautifully orchestrated way. Remember the journey at this point in the cycle is to track down ideas and facts that bring out the essence of how one deals with experts.

August 19 Thursday
It’s a bit stuff to move on with this Sagittarius Moon. At 7:58 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course for nineteen minutes of snuffing out the enjoyable companionship of Sagittarius. At 8:17 am, the Moon moves into conscientious Capricorn. Some of us may begin to fret about being organized enough to plow through resistance or lethargy that seems to stand in the way of succeeding. This can feel like being entombed by quick sand. Some work is just too hard, but sometimes honor and duty come to the rescue. Capricorn is often driven by obligations and can relentlessly pursue every detail.

August 20 Friday
The Capricorn Moon enters her gibbous phase at 8:44 am, MT. This is when concentration on priorities works best, especially tasks that draw things together. Duty and goals come before pleasure. We’re in charge and responsible for everything that happens. Progress may be slow though, as Mercury goes retrograde at 1:59 pm. Every little step, however, can be appreciated and seen as a connecting link to one’s inner wellspring of wisdom. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

August 21 Saturday
By adjusting one’s outer perceptions to interlink with one’s intuition, today’s Capricorn Moon can bring clarity to some issue. Unexpected breakthroughs can suddenly appear. At 7:08 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course, sweeping off Capricorn’s burdensome worries for twenty-nine minutes. And then she moves into the self-observant sensitivities of Aquarius. This air sign allows the mind to wrap itself around the multiple behaviors of daily living and critically examine them as to their role in exchanging and understanding how one responds to authority figures. The Sun enters analytical Virgo at 11:27 pm Sunday.
