Disseminating and Last Quarter Moon

August 30 Monday
With this Taurus Moon we might ask ourselves if we have secured a visceral understanding of how our thinking might be different from our teachers and experts. There are many viewpoints on most subjects. Putting them all together to form a complete picture can sometimes change one’s cherished perspective. We may need to force ourselves to look at some overlooked truth. If we are adamant to be right, we might revert to scrappy passive aggressive behavior. The more views we can grasp about something, the greater our discernment becomes. Taurus can help us sniff out the value of each perspective.

August 31 Tuesday
With today’s Taurus Moon the trust we have in our own inner truth is put to the test. It is important to choose carefully when placed in a position where a personal response is expected but not necessary. Take the time to consider what would reflect something special about you and your ideals. At 5:13 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course, shaking off the cautious, conventional Taurus for an hour and a half. At 6:19 pm, she moves into the forward looking Gemini. Anything goes. There’s a prevailing feeling of moving on to explore the changing ideas that have entered one’s consciousness.

September 1 Wednesday
The Moon is in the sign of the twins, Gemini, telling us to look at things through another’s eyes, to see what’s behind us or off to the side, allowing for a circumspection that just might turn around some behavior based on an influential learning experience. At 11:22 am, MT, the Moon enters her last quarter phase. It is at this stage of the cycle that its meaning becomes clear and one is faced with a decision about how to proceed on a path to self mastery. We may become drastically aware of what had been hidden from us. This knowledge suggests a complete reversal of some habit to add a new dimension to one’s response to life.

September 2 Thursday
With this Gemini Moon pause whenever possible to take in your surroundings and how they reflect the structure and the meaning of your life, especially how you take risks and experiment with your existence. Think about your ideal way of being independent and include the fact that everything changes, you too. A change of direction on your ideal path is called for today. Unsettling moments or some sort of shock are simply meant to remind you of how you need to be and or act to exist in your perfect world. The Gemini part of us can mend our errant ways by combining them into a new synthesis.

September 3 Friday
The Moon moved into the unburdening arms of Cancer early this morning. Such relief allows for broader exploration of some deeper core of our being. Both the Moon and Mercury retrograde point to decayed conditions of favoring others’ opinions over one’s own. A feeling of hidden potential can emerge from a broad view of such behavior. It is accessible to us if we are willing to advance beyond our meanderings and mistakes. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 4 Saturday
With this Cancer Moon radical changes come easily. One might effortlessly shift one’s loyalty from one group to another, especially if support for one’s ideals is involved. Certain tensions with individuals may arise late in the day as we approach the balsamic Moon. That phase begins at 11:45 pm, MT, and fosters envisioning the multitude of ramifications that can be created when one introduces new behaviors in one’s daily life that can undermine longstanding rules or authority previously followed. The Moon voids herself of caring Cancer during the night and moves into risk-taking Leo on Sunday.
