New and Crescent Moon

September 6 Monday
All sorts of creative possibilities arrive with this balsamic Leo Moon. Some say civilization as we know is in decline. Today the muses are eager to whisper ideas that can be used in imaging a new social order in tune with nature. All we need to do is surrender to suggestions and let go of failed conceptions of institutions. New perspectives are emerging for us to play with in our imaginations. One frustration in all of this for Leo is how much work it will take to bring about what is envisioned. Patience and planning are needed. This Leo part of us needs a strong sense of anticipation to engage in the practical step by step manifestation of a vision

September 7 Tuesday
The Moon moved into nature-controlling Virgo early this morning. This sign thinks long and hard about what to accept into her life. And as the Moon conjoins Mercury retrograde this afternoon, we could benefit from some mental housecleaning in anticipation of tomorrow’s new Moon. Recall your overall relationship with house pets and how you feel about domesticating animals. If you were a house pet, how would you like to be treated? Virgo likes to tame nature. Does the Virgo part of you like being conditioned according to some so-called civilized ways of living?

September 8 Wednesday
At 4:30 am, MT, we had a new Virgo Moon beginning a cycle of looking at how we cage ourselves by taming the wild parts of our nature and seeing if and how we maintain some contact with that wildness through our instincts. How are certain ideals curtailed by social constraints? Does our work have standards that encourage or imprison our unruly parts? Do we merge with our wildness whenever possible or suppress it? Today we may perceive with fresh eyes how humanity has solidified certain ideal behaviors through its institutions. Some of them need to be shaken up and abandoned.

September 9 Thursday
The Moon moved into balance-seeking Libra early this morning, and we are confronted with a dawning realization that something must change. Take some time to visualize an ideal way of transitioning to another level of experience. Of course it is important first to focus on what it is that one wants to materialize. Hunches may count for something, especially if they seem to be linked to some reality. Test them no matter how insignificant they may seem. Libra has a strong feel for them as they could ideally be. Libra also sets them in a context in which meaningful improvements can be made.

September 10 Friday
This Libra Moon brings up issues of loving people but wanting them to behave, whatever that means. Appropriate demeanor is important to Libra. Look out for annoyances and how you avoid them. Do your responses keep you in a state of compassion? Is there some sort of suppression that disconnects you not only from the relationship but also from deeper, primal aspects of yourself? Does this dynamic point to some ego problem? Libra can be self-deceiving. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 11 Saturday
The Moon moved into seeing-anew Scorpio early this morning and entered her crescent phase at 9:40 am, MT. At this stage we can refuse to take seriously the impulses of the last three days to break loose from so-called proper decorum and thus abort the precious revelations of this cycle. Or we can turn our backs on some acceptable conduct of our past and make efforts to meld some behaviors into a deeper matrix of who we are. Scorpio suggests we jump into situations that promise improved relationships not only within and among ourselves but with all of nature.
