Gibbous and Full Moon

September 20 Monday
The independent Aquarius Moon uses her uncanny sense of time to bring things together in an unusual yet effective way early this morning. At 7:09 am, MT, she goes void of course for seven hours of wildly throwing off Aquarius’s progressive ways. We may lose ourselves in unrealistic pursuits during this time. If we pause frequently and watch and listen, we may receive sudden clarity on some matters. At 2:15 pm, the Moon moves into malleable Pisces, where we can melt away crystallized conformist behavior and use that energy to explore ways of bringing untamed nature and spirit together in a healthy coupling.

September 21 Tuesday
With this Pisces Moon we may feel like we’re wandering in a maze being stirred up by things beyond our control. Efforts to understand what is required may lead to dead ends, and about-turns can reveal more of what we haven’t realized about the level to which we have been trained and tamed. Pisces sometimes fancies that she’s free of mundane routines and can be oblivious of what has been ingrained so well through the process of socialization. Avoiding certain realities about one’s habits merely reinforces them. There are energies afloat supportive of changing aspects of one’s lifestyle. If one person can change, anyone can change.

September 22 Wednesday
This gibbous Pisces Moon feels very restless. She wants to conform to group pressure yet idealizes independence. She feels trapped, hemmed in. There is some relief with lots of movement, especially when it is inclusive of both human instinctual and intellectual expressions. There is some constraint, but only so that what is missing can be given the freedom to shine. This Moon nurtures all of what one is and wants to see the nature of that sparkle in perfect harmony with everything else as the Sun enters Libra tonight at 9:09 pm, MT, triggering the autumnal equinox of equality of light and dark.

September 23 Thursday
The Moon moved into forward-looking Aries early this morning and also entered her full phase, a time of illuminating something we might not have been fully conscious of in the past. We might realize during this phase that we have been more disconnected from our wild, instinctual nature than we thought. The boundary between our rational selves and our raw instincts may favor our tamed nature and shut out or split off our often troublesome wildness that does not like being boxed in by social expectations. Some new context might be needed for joining together the untamed beast and the cultured mind in us.

September 24 Friday
With this Aries Moon our feelings are hotwired to our guts, feeding all sorts of information to our cultivated minds. Can we re-write the parts of our scripts where we come up against ourselves? Stuff comes up today that we would rather avoid or deny, but it has so many faces and names that show up in the feedback loop as synonymous that there’s no way to disguise the naked truth about ourselves. When Aries gets too inflated with ego, illusions start to take over. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 25 Saturday
The Moon has been voiding herself of foolhardy, sometimes primitive Aries since early this morning. Don’t let that stop you from taking some leaps of faith. At 2:17 pm, MT, she moves into earthy, sensual Taurus, and we can confront ourselves as part of Mother Nature. It may become clearer how much or how little we, as rational beings, are in sync with our animal nature. On Sunday revelations abound about the dualities that exist within us and how much we repress the behaviors that keep them connected and balanced. Sometimes we narrow the choices we have and dull our perceptions of a greater reality.
