Disseminating and Last Quarter Moon

September 27 Monday
Early this morning the Taurus Moon entered her disseminating phase, a time when some existing habitual behavior and its emotional motivation is recognized for what it has been and challenged by a desire to transform it. How we treat our instincts or wildness demands our attention and our ability to act upon new possibilities of using that part of our nature. Yet an atmosphere of uncertainty may cloak the importance of displaying the animal in us. As the day wanes all sorts of opportunities abound to liberate it. Taurus isn’t thrilled by change, but welcomes the prospect of being more natural.

September 28 Tuesday
The Moon moved into diversifying Gemini during the night, quite willing to accumulate new skills to replace what has become robotic. There is a openness to letting potential habits take shape. Gemini can easily adopt new behaviors but can also compartmentalize parts of the self which can be counter to the interconnecting of our instinctual and rational parts called for in this cycle. Turning habits around requires being in touch with our bodies and responding to their needs. Gemini can be easily scattered and lose touch with the physical. Yet the Gemini part of us often bursts out of imposed boundaries just like the untamed animal.

September 29 Wednesday
With this disseminating Gemini Moon we can get caught up in the personal history of some pattern of instinctual behavior. An internal dialogue with that part of us may be beneficial if it is geared towards determining whether or not that behavior is worth maintaining. Does it bring more excitement and joy to your life? Does it support embracing the future with inquisitiveness? Gemini is usually ready to take on the nuances of the environment from one place to another. It is productively forward looking. Gemini, the sign of the twins, is often looking for a way to unify the different parts of oneself.

September 30 Thursday
The Moon is voiding herself of multi-faceted Gemini until 7:46 am, MT, when she moves into self-contained Cancer, ready to explore new directions for a penetrating understanding of the psyche. Issues are raised about the structure of how the human mind functions. There are hidden factors to take into account, and our instincts may feel disconnected from our intellect. There may be a dawning realization that a vital part of us has been missing in our decision making process. This comes late in the day as the Moon enters her last quarter phase at 9:52 pm, MT. This phase calls for changes in our assumptions about human nature.

October 1 Friday
This last quarter Cancer Moon suggests we flood our imagination with images of how we might act if we were to parade our instincts like other animal species do. This can be a bit bewildering if one doesn’t trust one’s inner truth. It may be difficult to understand the a-logical, magical realities of life. What matters about them is our belief in them not our opinions and conclusions about them. The image-rich Cancer part of us is always looking for acceptance. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 2 Saturday
The Moon moved into play-acting Leo at 12:21 pm, MT, reflecting how we might be streamlining our looks from an instinctual view. A fun-loving spirit can point to changes that are needed. This weekend we can re-create attitudes and behaviors by getting into the rhythm of our feelings. Pondering memories of feeling aligned with one’s essence can trigger the alchemical process of seeding new ways of being and relating. Leo can be unwavering in his central purpose, and has the strength to throw off complacency and tinker with new possibilities.
