Crescent and First Quarter Moon

October 11 Monday
Last night the Sagittarius Moon entered her crescent phase. At this stage in the lunation we are very familiar with the strategies and maneuvers used in the past to get through the various cycles of our lives, be they the seasons of the year or the patterns of coming into and being in relationship with a person, or how we’re driven to form any kind of connection. The time is ripe to begin to access a new way of making those associations. If we don’t choose to seek a change in how we bring things and or people together in our lives, we risk being stuck in limited, repetitive patterns.

October 12 Tuesday
With this Sagittarius Moon we can take a stand about personal behaviors that are essential and those that are replaceable. By pursuing an intuition about how something can change and advance, some ideal may be realizable. Sagittarius can be unstoppable in pursuit of a goal. The inspired hunches of the Sagittarius Moon foster journeys into unfamiliar territory. If choosing such a trip, be forewarned that your human links might get rattled by unforeseen vital forces that resonate to your underlying nature. At 6:08 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course for four hours of emptying herself of growth-promoting Sagittarius. Avoid over-extending yourself.

October 13 Wednesday
This Capricorn Moon is tough. She knows how to deal with tedious, bothersome situations. But if we’re set in our ways, they could become intolerable. If we don’t like what’s going on today, we might withdraw, disconnect, and take a very long time to respond to surrounding conditions and or people involved. Capricorn trusts in the rightness of her thinking and prefers to withdraw from adversity. Capricorn, however, has strong concentration skills that can help one find the potential in impossible circumstances which can be altered into promising possibilities.

October 14 Thursday
With this Capricorn Moon reality comes under scrutiny. Some may question certain standards and wonder about influences behind the scenes. We might be motivated to get off of one track and connect to a path that makes the heart sing. The Moon enters her first quarter phase at 3:27 pm, MT. During this most active part of the lunation, there’s a need to recognize that certain ways are unproductive and get us nowhere. A change in direction may be indicated, one that is supportive and provides an easy fluidity of movement through life’s cycles. Look for a trail of effervescence that flows with delight, and where seeds can be sown for different cyclical experiences.

October 15 Friday
The Moon is sweeping off the concerns and fears of Capricorn this morning and at 8:24 am, MT, moves into the realm of Aquarius where the past is frequently not a consideration. It’s time to decide on different approaches to certain cyclical patterns. What are you doing that you do every October? Aquarius can deliberately upset the existing order of things if something seems out of sync. Such an experience may call for a revolution. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 16 Saturday
This weekend’s Aquarius Moon indicates trouble with coordinating some basic changes in one’s level of awareness. Perturbations may be disturbing one’s inner compass. A new context is needed in the midst of confusion. On Sunday at 12:49 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course, blowing off the unpredictable, sometimes eccentric Aquarius for eight hours. During this time a different future may seem more attainable. If we open up internally, all sorts of dawning insights might float through our consciousness. At 8:52 pm, the Moon moves into the vision-producing realm of Pisces.
