Gibbous and Full Moon

October 18 Monday
The Pisces Moon reminds us that when we have gone as far as we can, done everything within our means, and finally surrender, we allow an infinite reservoir of knowingness to surface that is ours to drink from no matter what external fate has in store for us. And somehow, magically everything changes. That is the gift of the gibbous Moon that arrives at 6:09 pm, MT. The process of putting on the finishing touches that this phase excels in, is truly internal in this cycle. The path to choose is one of magician-like changes. It submerges one in a mélange of images that are essentially all the same and all different.

October 19 Tuesday
With this Pisces Moon comes a deluge of surprising realizations. Some of which may be helpful in clearing out psychological blockages or resolving some longstanding issues. Something is coming into being but still partly entombed in the shadows. Like a photographer we can capture it on the mind’s film if we bring enough light to it. The mind is so many things! Perhaps while in a meditative state, we can also tell our minds to be a sonogram, showing us the next leg of our collective journey and providing some information on how or where to travel on the cycles of life.

October 20 Wednesday
The Moon is voiding herself of Pisces ability to bring in new states of consciousness until 9:23 am, MT, when she moves into lively, quick-witted Aries. We can skip along making adjustments as we go. It is, however, best to avoid dark places, as they might be troublesome and in the way of one’s goals. Aries can display a brusque ruggedness that can sometimes be lucky in gathering and getting exactly what is sought after. Today abounds in such fortunate circumstances. Through engaging with others certain truths can be uncovered, valuable to one’s spiraling through life.

October 21 Thursday
On this last day of a gibbous Moon when concentration and determination are needed to gain maximum realization of how one is traveling on the collective cyclical paths of life, the Aries Moon is somewhat restrictive. Aries can keep on going but easily forgets about the past, creating a permanent state of inexperience. The contrast of past and other possibilities is important now. Also during the gibbous phase other people can be an invaluable resource for attaining a goal. Yet Aries can be impatient of others and then perceived as disloyal to them. Being with people who feel like equals in that Aries part of us works best today.

October 22 Friday
Friday starts with an Aries Moon overflowing with energy that is unstoppable. Hope and trust fuel yearnings to find the best path for oneself. At 7:37 pm, MT, the Moon receives all of the Sun’s light possible for her and enters her full phase. This is a time for accessing an ideal. In this cycle that has to do with using wisdom to find one’s path and thus avoid being trapped in a lower plane of existence. At this time of the full Moon, she also voids herself of individualistic Aries before moving into constructive Taurus at 8:30 pm. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

October 23 Saturday
This Taurus Moon shines light on the truth about how meaningful or not are the rituals we faithfully repeat daily. Some of us may need to be rescued from the trail we trod. There’s a spirit of independence this weekend that can help us strike out on our own and figure out what can and cannot be done. Taurus craves beauty of all sorts and doesn’t leave things to chance. Usually reliable actions are taken that produce the desired results. Today, however, the bull will get closer to the goal by strolling on the wild side. A spunky gait just might put one in the perfect mood to choose an enlightening direction.
