Balsamic and New Moon

November 1 Monday
The Virgo Moon is quite reasonable, and at this last quarter phase she might be tired of old ways that separate her from the larger, metaphysical perspective of life cycles. Virgo is used to looking at distinct pieces of the puzzle of what our lives signify. And there comes a time when she wants all the pieces to fit coherently. Now is that time. What is jagged and seemingly misfit must change. Of course it might be our perspective that needs an alteration. There’s a lot of internal chatter about what is amiss and how to proceed today. Our discontent may be divine and usher in a feeling of enlightenment.

November 2 Tuesday
With some care this Virgo Moon brings a spirit of optimism during the morning hours. Emotional attachments, however, may exacerbate feeling cut off from the social interactions and rituals of election day. Excitement and stimulation is standard but may get out of control. Hyper-nervousness leads to scattered thinking and behaving. Mythic issues, like those of Samson and Delilah, are at play. New experiences are desired, and patience with business as usual wears thin. The Moon goes void of course at 6:36 pm, MT, dusting off the remnants of scrutinizing Virgo for almost five hours. Things may get messy this evening.

November 3 Wednesday
The Moon entered her balsamic phase yesterday afternoon. During these days before the new Moon this coming Friday night, much knowledge abounds about the rituals and cycles of our lives, and there are opportunities to get things right, to envision new realities. Today’s Libra Moon brings feelings of old fears that may inhibit some of us. There’s security in some established affiliations, especially if we have idealized certain social traditions. We have no guarantee, however, that the future will replicate the past. Now is the time to loosen our hold on old patterns and dream of new ones.

November 4 Thursday
With this Libra Moon, it seems easy to collect information and feel cared for. We can attune to a certain sense of magic. Libra is observant of people and the ambiance created by them and sees things relative to the context they’re in. At 5:34 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course fanning off the gifted imagination of Libra for the rest of the day. During this time the dreamer in us gets activated. We may believe we can change anything, risking being unrealistic by overlooking the good and bad aspects of certain possibilities. On the other hand, however, our imaginations can deliver some wonderful ideas.

November 5 Friday
The Moon is in Scorpio, nudging us to blend into a deeper soul matrix to link ourselves with the spiritual mysteries of life on this planet. Scorpio looks for the underlying reality, trying to understand it from the inside. That’s why this sign is so good at ferreting out secrets and finding treasures. Burrowing into some puzzle may lead to a network of connections. Finding the right links can be quite transformative. Some paths require drastic measures to lead us forward. The flow of our energies is part of the theme of the new Moon tonight at 10:52, MT. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

November 6 Saturday
The new Scorpio Moon reminds us that consciousness is an important factor in linking up with people, events, or places, as well as connecting the dots between certain personal patterns of behavior. Today our feelings and thoughts can be aligned in a way that renews our vitality. Tonight at 9:44, MT, the Moon voids herself of penetrating Scorpio for almost five hours. Early Sunday morning, the Moon moves into the integrating sign of Sagittarius. Energy abounds to explore the strange ways in which one attitude or habit can mix with another and bring about all sorts of possibilities.
