Gibbous, Full and Disseminating Moon

December 20 Monday
This gibbous Gemini Moon is longing for more information to bring everything together that has come up over the past two weeks having to do with the imprint of cultural structures in our lives, and more specifically with their hidden connections in our customary behavior. Gemini can be a know-it-all and willfully ignore the possibility that something has been overlooked or ignored in the sphere of self-knowledge. Tonight’s eclipsed full Moon may emphasize some stuck, recurring themes that can no longer remain hidden. They might become so troublesome that we will have to coax them out into the open, like squirrels hiding under a house.

December 21 Tuesday
The eclipsed full Moon occurred after midnight and then moved into Cancer, a sign that knows how to get or give comfort when needed. And we just might need it after some of today’s confrontations with revelations about how much we engage with inessentials and use them to measure what sustains us. The Sun enters Capricorn at 4:38 pm, MT, marking the winter solstice and shining forth messages about our authenticity. How much are we caught up in lies and deception? Some circumstances might just inform us about that today. We may be able to pierce to the heart of our behavior and energize the best in us.

December 22 Wednesday
The Cancer Moon is often more comfortable with the past than the future and can reflect on how our character has brought us to the best and the worst of our present habitual patterns. We can easily follow the scenario of our lives and the ideals and standards that we’ve used to get us to this moment. Now we have a different pair of eyes that awaken us to things previously hidden, stirring up our passion to be fully who we are capable of being. Cancer can be easily adaptable to the demands of life while focusing on self-development. It’s a sign that instinctively knows how to be complete.

December 23 Thursday
During the very early morning hours the Moon has been pouring off the safe and cozy warmth of Cancer. At 5:51 am, MT, she moves into the risk-taking sign of Leo. Like her fullness, our sense of our personal lives expands within our consciousness. Insights draw us to deal with rebuilding better structures for some of our behaviors. The importance of change, of being able to maneuver through ordeals into more complex ways of operating becomes evident. If we take a stand and make a commitment to take the next evolutionary step, we just might breakthrough to a new level of being.

December 24 Friday
This Leo Moon is vibrant and matches the part of us that wants to be aligned with the needs of the day and be responsive to the ebb and flow of obligations. If we follow our feelings, we can look squarely at the ubiquitous materialism that permeates our culture and imagine more basic less tangible needs and values. The Moon enters her disseminating phase at 11:53 am, MT, suggesting we risk openly displaying how we really feel about some enduring structures in our lives. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

December 25 Saturday
The disseminating Moon shed herself of show-off Leo and moved into ritual-loving Virgo at 8:14 am, MT. Virgo can take us into the hidden, magical realms where whimsy and fantasy are active. We can easily get psyched into imaginative play and silly games that are familiar scenes on this holiday. Darker forces may surface unexpectedly in the afternoon. Sunday may bring this heaviness to a head with breakthroughs regarding unwanted rubbish and what really counts. It’s important to focus on the meaning of how certain structures are linked in our lives and how there are many different views of this. Merry Christmas!
