First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

January 10 Monday
The Moon is voiding herself of the binding ideals of Pisces this morning. During this time it is beneficial to be passive like sand on the shore, knowing that everything changes yet some core essentials remain. At 8:24 am, MT, the Moon moves into probing Aries. With this sign we can explore beneath the surface of things, searching for universal truths that have given meaning to our lives. Such adventures can be easily stimulated by imagination today, which might become over-stimulated by an erratic electrical energy. Nerves may be overtaxed. Aries can be always on the move.

January 11 Tuesday
With this Aries Moon, in-your-face emotions confront arrested stages of development from the past. The feelings can guide us to find a balanced rhythm. But to get there we may encounter some tough reverberations of highly charged past incidents for which we are accountable. Our busy brains may over-interpret what’s going on. Yet gathering lots of data provides the whole picture of some past issue. We can use this information to design a course of action. This can all be beneficial if we avoid sloppiness and arrogance. They distract us from the truth.

January 12 Wednesday
The Aries Moon entered her first quarter phase earlier this morning. The next four days are the most supportive for action developing some objective, In this cycle it is important to recognize some hard truth about one’s past and its limitations that effect present circumstances. With such knowledge the action called for is to explore in one’s mind possible futures that will bring out the very best in one. Acting on yearnings for a more harmonious life may have some hurdles to leap. The use of one’s inner eyes can discern the best course based on the essence of things.

January 13 Thursday
The Moon is in Taurus, a sign resistant to giving up possessions and or experiences from the past if they were precious and pleasurable. Such a loss is painful, like being banished from paradise. A willingness to change, however, can produce a way to leave a former comfort zone to find a better situation. There’s always a way to work things out. Just break away; go for it. Today we can make big things happen if we take charge. Of all of the signs Taurus can display a lot of inertia which can easily be overcome now. Taurus has many broad-based skills to choose from and can find a use for anything.

January 14 Friday
With this Taurus Moon some of the hidden contents of our past can be brought out that have played a role in some cause and effect circumstances where we had to sacrifice something or do without it. If such a condition exists today, question it for deeper understanding and future direction. It may be a part of a greater field of energy that keeps cultivating its appearance. Such a pursuit can rejuvenate the Taurus part of us to keep working at it. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

January 15 Saturday
The Moon moved into “always in a hurry,” forward-looking Gemini early this morning. Gemini can seem to be going in all directions at once, and some part of us may feel a tug-of-war with our Gemini today. Feelings trigger sudden changes and an unwillingness to take the easy way out. On Sunday at 2:27 am, MT, the Moon enters her gibbous phase, a time for focusing on priorities, not one of Gemini’s strong points. This sign can be easily scattered and disorganized, especially when there’s something new to explore. The best guide may be to follow the flow of feelings.
