Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

January 24 Monday
This Libra Moon represents a gathering together, a communion of parts of ourselves and or with people from our past that when pieced into a puzzle, complete the whole view of a specific way in which we have been functioning. Some group karma can be uncovered if we choose to commune. Social and emotional responsibilities require attention. There can be reciprocal satisfaction in helping others to reframe mental pictures of past events, freeing up energy to create anew. Libra is a sign that promotes harmonious rearrangements. It seeks to make meaningful improvements.

January 25 Tuesday
With this Libra Moon some of us may choose to wear rose-tinted glasses to view a distortion of reality rather than face up to the truth. Libra can be deliberately blind to reality, refusing to notice the nasty stuff. Such avoidance allows Libra to seem forgiving and understanding. Such deception is easy today, but so is drawing upon spiritual resources to take deliberate action to improve what seems distasteful. The Moon goes void of course at 3:04 pm, MT, airing out the remnants of Libra’s critical appraisal for four hours. During this time, access compassion. The Moon moves into probing Scorpio at 7:15 pm.

January 26 Wednesday
The Scorpio Moon enters her last quarter phase at 5:57 am, MT. The meaning and value of the cycle becomes clear and usually urges a new direction out of a feeling of necessity. There is an exposure of what is real and what is just one of many interpretations of the past. This awareness demands big changes, the kind that makes one look at things differently. We may need to face up to a hard assessment of flaws that have brought us to this point if we truly want to operate differently. Scorpio can take us into an intuitive-emotional symbiosis with what is dis-eased. And then, like a surgeon, help us to amputate it.

January 27 Thursday
With this Scorpio Moon we can see through the mechanical, every day needs to follow what seems like destiny or the guidance of spiritual wisdom. There is a challenge, however, that involves having the confidence to persevere in trusting your own inner authority as to the rightness of what is calling you, no matter what obstacles appear. A sense of independence and the sound of one’s personal inner drummer beckon. Is this a true vision or an escape. Of course, Scorpio’s ability to ferret out and lay bare any hidden stuff can support us in knowing what is essential and most valuable.

January 28 Friday
The Moon is in Sagittarius, bringing a view of the potential of transforming some old habit. If we have pursued a new level of consciousness about some cultural pattern, our steps forward may be gifted with an overview of our progress. Some of us, however, may be backtracking. A problem area for Sagittarius is aiming too far and not being aware of what was done wrong. Sudden flashes of enlightenment may clear up such an error today.

January 29 Saturday
This Sagittarius Moon generates interests in sharing ideals and playing around with lofty ambitions, bridging the past with the future. Sagittarius can bring a “joie de vivre” with the simplest of pleasures. At 9:34 pm, MT, the Moon enters her balsamic phase wherein fresh approaches to daily life appear at our biding. During the night the Moon voids herself of enthusiastic Sagittarius, and Sunday at 7:04 am, MT, moves into slow-to-respond Capricorn. Other parts of us are awakening. It may feel like fighting off a bunch of thought punches. We may think, however, that we have the power to eliminate the wrongs of the past. Capricorn provides a quiet courage that we can envision using during this balsamic phase.
