Balsamic and New Moon

March 28 Monday
The Moon is in Aquarius, looking to embrace something new, something not yet experienced. Rare is the person who has never screamed or excitedly yelled out, drawing attention. But short of some peculiar circumstance there are places and times when most of us shelter such outbursts. This morning offers the chance to be a maverick, to risk a maneuver that pulls in attention and takes us in a different direction. The challenge is to resist an urge to want to act respectably or at least to have proof of succeeding in doing something beyond the usual. Focusing on what is wanted is all that is needed for a transition.

March 29 Tuesday
Today’s Aquarius Moon involves us in resolving opposites like conflicts between the future and the past, dreams or reality. A key to bringing such struggles into peaceful resolution is to find happiness engaged in each side of the battle. We can take the enjoyment of past activities into the exploration of things never before experienced. We can share the perceived benefits of our visions as if they are extensions of our history. Aquarius likes to take existing conditions and experiment with what they can become, always looking for an improvement. And today we are challenged to find new acquaintances who can support our progress.

March 30 Wednesday
The Aquarius Moon entered her balsamic phase this morning. This is a time when a new vision for the future may appear, one that can pull together various behaviors into a new context, requiring a re-centering of oneself. Along with this, Mercury goes retrograde this afternoon, helping us to see not only the outer meaning of these changes but also the inner implications. We can also perceive the melting away of antiquated ways, as the Moon goes void of course at 4:22 pm, MT until 4:38 pm, when she moves into the communal realm of Pisces. Pisces fosters harmony among people, sharing the spirit of togetherness.

March 31 Thursday
With this balsamic Pisces Moon we may feel like we’re pregnant with some new awakening stirring within us. At 7:43 am, MT, the Moon goes void of course until Saturday morning. During this time Pisces evaporates off the Moon, a process hardly noticeable. A void of course Moon and the sign of Pisces can be quite similar. Both are porous; boundaries seem non-existent. Pisces likes to let go of what is no longer needed and that is exactly what a voiding Moon is doing. An ideal for Pisces is spiritual union. During a void of course Moon it is often easier to connect in spiritual states of consciousness.

April 1 Friday
The Pisces Moon is void of course all day. This is perfect for metaphysical explorations of complex relationships. The boundaries are thin between the unseen connections. We can share emotional or spiritual inspiration happily with others while being in tune with our own daily rhythmic routines. Pisces can be like the cosmic womb incubating ideas and ideals. While they are gestating, we can envision all sorts of ways in which they can take form. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

April 2 Saturday
The Moon moved into Aries this morning, about 6 and a half hours after Mars did, stirring up a need to defend oneself against any trouble. The Moon met up with some eccentric bombarding energies, giving us a sense of some emerging directions with the next Moon cycle that begins Sunday at 8:32 am, MT. This Aries new Moon feels like being at a crossroads. There are many multi-level choices to make that raise several questions about what is beyond the merely natural in our lives. We may become aware of how structure can help us attune to various states of being. Things seem to be quickening and recklessness can bring trouble.
