New and Crescent Moon

May 30 Monday
With this Taurus Moon we may feel eager to be doing something yet hold back as if waiting for some signal to come from those around us. This is reflecting the balsamic Moon eager to join up with the Sun yet aware that readiness is important. Are we prepared to stand up for ourselves, recognizing our own worth? Taurus makes gains when self confidence is strong. For Taurus, this self-concept comes with steady, methodical, and practical steps that cultivate a sense of worth and that accumulate a bag of skills and resources. Taurus brings this to joint endeavors but not without a well-thought out plan.

May 31 Tuesday
This Taurus Moon stirs up emotions that can strongly influence thinking. The Moon goes void of course at 9:37 am, MT, for over eight hours of shedding the longing, lust, and greed that are familiar companions of Taurus. During this time we may be attracted to things or people that are unavailable to us. A sense of security may be sought in illusions. It’s best to release sentimental attachments, yet not easy to do. The path of least resistance is to withdraw as long as the destination is comforting. At 5:56 pm, the Moon moves into socially conscious and word-sensitive Gemini.

June 1 Wednesday
The curious and observant Gemini Moon brings a keen alertness to whatever is new in the environment. At 3:03 pm, we have a solar eclipse visible in the northern polar region that pushes at social limits. We are urged to express our gifts and talents and get rid of obstacles that stand in the way of having our needs addressed. Anything that prevents our good fortune of equal opportunity must go. Parity differs culturally but can be a universal goal for an evolved civilization. Communication and interaction with others as peers is a central theme of this Moon cycle. Conflicts with authority figures may occur.

June 2 Thursday
The new Gemini Moon meets up with her south node this afternoon. This supports us in recognizing metaphorical garbage and vital signs of long-held treasures. Old patterns that keep us enslaved to others or to parts of us which are screaming for change can be identified and labeled for elimination in the near future. Forgotten or lost knowledge may also appear. It’s time to demonstrate that wisdom. Gemini is adept at mending what has been separated and in that process can discover new combinations for diversifying efforts to empty out oneself and renew some personal essential forces.

June 3 Friday
The Moon is in Cancer, urging us to look at our individual needs and assurances about our interactions in the world. We may feel tense and uncertain this morning, wanting to be secure at any cost, even of our freedom. It’s best to look at the bigger picture, to get an overview of one’s circumstances. Defensiveness rears its head along with an expectation of getting hurt. It’s time for some heart-to-heart conversations. That means listening with the heart too! Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

June 4 Saturday
New and exciting issues may come up today with this Cancer Moon. We may be sensitive to other’s opinions while having our own preferences. The Moon voids herself of mothering Cancer during the night and into Sunday morning. At 8:20 am, MT, she enters her crescent phase where in we may be magnetically drawn to what has emerged since Wednesday and what is needed next. We’re urged to pursue a sense of belonging and connectivity. At 9:03 am, on Sunday, the Moon moves into the drama and excitement of Leo. Our stage for the day is filled with wonder bubbling up from our inner wellsprings!
