Gibbous and Full Moon

August 8 Monday
With this Sagittarius Moon we can broaden our perception of the past. Our personal and cultural history is like a field of dreams in which there is no limit to the discoveries to be made if we look for hidden connections. Today several of those revelations will unfold in our minds. Some of the people encountered may assist in seeing things differently. Taking things as they happen can produce an experience of vibrant fullness. Sagittarius often isn’t satisfied with a one dose of something. This sign delights in repeated or extended occurrences. A great conversation with one buddy is even better with two or more comrades.

August 9 Tuesday
With this morning’s Sagittarius Moon there is an impatience to strike out and get beyond a state of inertia. We may be pushing for information about some essentials of our beliefs. Overlooked pieces of data may inspire us with techniques to move past old ways. At 2:25 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course for thirteen minutes of smothering the remaining benevolence of Sagittarius. Imagination can be rich during this time. At 2:38 pm, the Moon moves into persevering Capricorn. Deep rumblings for change erupt from our psyches. Our capacity to deal with immense difficulties is tested.

August 10 Wednesday
The Capricorn Moon entered her gibbous phase last night which brings to mind what is needed to attain the fruits of this lunation. What is missing that might fortify confidence in some beliefs or produce growth in the experiment of living? There’s plenty of hope to be found in unifying the issues around expressing what one solidly stands for. Uncovering deeply rooted assumptions and contesting them can ruffle feathers. Doing that and maintaining a pleasant social environment is a sign of healthy independent growth. The Moon begins to void herself of responsible Capricorn at 2:34 pm, MT, until Thursday night. Distinguishing facts from illusions will take effort.

August 11 Thursday
The Capricorn Moon is void of course until 9:47 pm, MT, when she moves into hopeful Aquarius. So hypersensitivity prevails throughout the day. Before making any hard and fast decisions, it is best to seek the support of concrete evidence for your choices. It’s hard to get going and, moreover, maintain energy for tasks at hand. Recent dramatic upheavals trigger outrage. Inner turmoil undermines accomplishing much today. It’s best to resign oneself to the reality of obvious things. Worrying can immobilize one. By seeking solitude and contemplating on ideals, inspiration may come on how to bring visions into solid form.

August 12 Friday
This Aquarius Moon offers us a sense of the pulse of our common humanity. There seems to be a desire to break from the past in spurts at both a collective and individual level. To be in tune with these times takes a willingness and courage to deal with tough problems. This is understandable and overwhelming. Giving oneself permission to explore options reinforces hope. Aquarius is good at recognizing patterns and dispersing limitations. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

August 13 Saturday
The full Aquarius Moon occurs at 12:57 pm, MT. During the full phase that lasts into Wednesday, we may see how unbounded enthusiasm can lead us into disillusionment. Sometimes our joyous states of proclaiming our beliefs trigger tests of the heart. Just how strong a balancing act do we possess when it comes to seriousness and exuberance? Sunday morning at 6:26 MT, the Moon voids herself of calculating Aquarius for twenty-eight minutes. At 6:54 am, she moves into all-inclusive Pisces. With the Moon submerged in this accommodating sign, we may more easily perceive how life is a training ground for spirit.
