New and Crescent Moon

August 29 Monday
This Virgo new Moon takes us through our ordinary everyday routines with an impulse to change our focus with an overriding intention to accommodate subconscious inclinations. It may be easier to pick up on their influence after the Moon goes void of course at 4:19 pm, MT. From then until tomorrow afternoon input from those mysterious layers of our unconscious mind meets less resistance from the sharp and critical awareness of the Virgo part of our charts. The evening atmosphere is pleasant and conducive to outpourings of inspiration and imagination.

August 30 Tuesday
With this morning’s void of course Virgo Moon and Jupiter beginning its retrograde period, an abundance of spiritual sustenance is available. Be still for a while and take note of how efficient you are being and where might there be room for improvement in your daily rituals. At 12:25 pm, MT, the Moon moves into the critical appraisal of Libra, the sign that has an eye for how to make things better, smoother, and more pleasant. Lofty expectations come up against mundane details and our toleration level wants to destroy words like “never” and “always”. There a strong sense of freedom to alter things.

August 31 Wednesday
With this Libra Moon, setting eyes on how one holds things together and when and where things can fall apart can reveal moments for adding a touch of levity. Purpose and relentless persistence permeate much of the day, and alertness can bridge the seriousness with a light-hearted spirit that prepares us to enter a threshold state. Care and effort are needed to decide how to detour from the rut of daily repetitively performed tasks, like an actor repeating lines and actions night after night in a play. Such behaviors are intensified today to test readiness to act creatively.

September 1 Thursday
The Libra Moon entered her crescent phase early this morning. This is when one might notice something new to pursue, something that has an unusual capacity. There’s strangeness in the air, and intuition and reasoning teeter totter to assess the mesmerizing quality of what can be had. The Moon goes void of course at 11:35 am, MT, for a little over an hour of evaporating Libra’s deliberation. It’s easy to get off track during this time. The Moon moves into unresponsive Scorpio at 12:48 pm. Sometimes Scorpio doesn’t take things seriously until overpowered by a surge of strong emotions, which can happen today.

September 2 Friday
With this Scorpio Moon we may ponder how to incorporate new ways to maneuver through daily activities by not stuffing self-doubts. By engaging in a dialogue, internally or externally, problem areas can be ameliorated in a multitude of ways. The guidance of key people in one’s life can brighten the day with some unexpected suggestions. Their keen perception offers a playful restructuring of one’s everyday reality. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

September 3 Saturday
The Scorpio Moon goes void of course at 1:42 pm, MT, for over an hour of draining off the self-protection of Scorpio. At 3:03 pm, she moves into open-minded Sagittarius where independence is encouraged. On Sunday morning a decision to follow the direction of this Moon cycle is needed. At 11:39 am, the first quarter Moon phase begins when it is important to take some bold action that changes how some daily routines are done. Sagittarius suggests going beyond the familiar, as if stepping into a very different world with elaborate, exuberant leaps. It’s a carpe diem opportunity!
