First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

October 3 Monday
The Moon is in Capricorn buffering a concentration of trickster energy. We may feel embattled by some cruel, disruptive occurrences. By seeking practical and spiritual solutions that promise liberation in the future, we may escape trouble. A refined expression of Capricorn can be that of seeking self mastery with a goal of becoming a spiritual adept. The transformational energy of Pluto in Capricorn is not only telling us to change behaviors that thwart responsibilities but also some teachings that may be preventing us from spiritual evolution. Evidence of how good we are at taking a new course of action will show up with the last quarter Moon phase that begins at 9:15 pm, MT.

October 4 Tuesday
Today we are confronted with the need to break off from old ways and form new more appealing ones. This comes with the first quarter Capricorn Moon as well as from her first quarter squaring off with Mercury and Venus. We may feel unsure of which way to go and what to choose. What others think as well as shared values may stand in our way. Whose ideas count? Yours or others? Of course, there may not be disagreement on much. But if there is some, it’s worth investigating. Capricorn can alternate between being sure of something and anxious about not having considered some important factor.

October 5 Wednesday
The Moon is voiding herself of cautious Capricorn this morning, and we may feel a bit restrained from enthusiastically venturing into the day. At 9:18 am, MT, however, the Moon moves into companionable and free-spirited Aquarius, and emotional support comes from friends, especially those from whom we’ve learned many a lesson informally. If the opportunity arises, it’s a good time to examine some experience with a colleague for some stark naked honesty about it. People who share things in common can easily work out problem areas today. To shift perspectives may take changing a feeling of being trapped by responsibilities.

October 6 Thursday
With this Aquarius Moon things may seem pleasant enough, but Aquarius can sometimes deliberately upset a peaceful environment if a better scene is envisioned. At this point in the Moon cycle action comes easily if impulses have been heeded, and today some of those may lead us into dark or unknown spaces. Such a journey can bring priceless knowledge, blessed good news! Beckoning instincts are tucked in between cautious mental work, heavy logic, and serious reservations. All of that can be trumped or toppled by the inventive perspective of Aquarius. Some of us may end up in an altered mind space!

October 7 Friday
This Aquarius Moon leads us into a fuller conception of reality. Through peeling away differences between others and things, we can create a flow of knowledge both rational and non rational. The Moon goes void of course at 4:08 pm, MT, stripping off the eccentricities of Aquarius for three hours. During this time, odd behavior may be idealized as we entered the gibbous phase at 5:58 pm. This is a time to play along with what is developing by using a technique that works even if it is incongruous with your nature.

October 8 Saturday
The Pisces Moon went void of course at 10:51 am, MT, until Monday morning. This is a very frustrating state for this Moon. The gibbous phase is one of the most active, productive, highly focused times during a cycle. Pisces is easily captivated and can be taken in many directions at once, and the only target a voiding Moon has is to shed the sign she is in before moving into a new one. How do we do the work of analyzing the interdependent factors of our learning process in the diffused conditions of this weekend? Simply turn up the volume on what your inner muse is saying.
