Disseminating, Last Quarter and Balsamic Moon

April 9 Monday
We start the day with an evasive void of course Scorpio Moon until 9:12 am, MT, when she moves into sporty, but sometimes clumsy Sagittarius. Acting instinctively, or on intuition, can leave one vulnerable, not knowing where to begin. One’s ego can be easily bruised today, revealing more about how we assert ourselves in the game of life. At 6:12 pm, the Moon enters her disseminating phase when everything we’ve learned about our use of ego comes into a clear picture, and it’s time to demonstrate how we can make our mark as a fully participating team player.

April 10 Tuesday
With this disseminating Sagittarius Moon, we may need to negotiate our way out of what others expect and invent ways to shine as a team member. Sagittarius is good at reappraising life and is capable of totally new starts. Taking a long and hard look at the Sagittarius part of our charts can lead to reassessing how we invest our energy and egos in the quests we pursue there. Entering this area is like being in an inner realm of one’s own making from all sorts of experiences both of the mind and body. All sorts of possibilities beckon us to discover the boundaries of our beliefs and myths.

April 11 Wednesday
The Sagittarius Moon went void of course at 5:06 am, MT, for six hours of diffusing the quests of this adventurous sign. During this time, meditative states can be highly satisfying and joyful. At 11:02 am, the Moon moves into practical, usually law-abiding Capricorn. This realistic sign knows what is needed to materialize a dream and today has the potential energy to do just that. Before, however, embarking on a new project, it is necessary to be prepared. Capricorn is good at structuring and applying a well-thought out method when executing a plan. How something is done is just as important as the goal.

April 12 Thursday
This industrious Capricorn Moon can easily find ways to sustain a vision of what is wanted and replenish energy to keep working at it. Attracting and keeping what is needed, however, will take great effort and skill. Staying in touch with one’s own capabilities and powers will help. In the Capricorn area of our charts we can be uncompromising and rigid, but we can call on the part of Capricorn that is sensible, respectful, and socially integrated to do the right thing. Sometimes this Capricorn inflexibility comes from wanting to set a good example, reminding us that even good intentions can get in the way of responsible action.

April 13 Friday
The Capricorn Moon entered her last quarter phase early this morning when a fresh sense of the value of awareness of how we act from a place of ego begins to take hold of us. During this phase it is optimal to re-evaluate one’s experiences and re-dedicate oneself to the use of ego when it supports us in living to our highest ideals and serving the greater good. An insightful time to do this is while the Moon voids herself of thoughtful Capricorn from 11:05 am until 3:48 pm, MT, when she moves into renovating Aquarius. And expect an energy shift as Mars goes direct at 9:53 pm. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

April 14 Saturday
This Aquarius Moon brings out independence. “I’ll do it my way!” may be a common thought today. Luckily there’s a part of Aquarius that grants others equality, but still this sign will stand its space and refuse to cooperate if something seems wrong. On Sunday we are halfway through the yearly cycle of the Sun and Saturn, offering us a broad view of how well we are balancing social responsibilities and the possibility of retracing the past six months to put things in a new context. The Moon goes void of course at 4:42 pm, MT, for almost seven hours of shaking off inconsistent Aquarius before moving into naïve Pisces.

April 16 Monday
With this Pisces Moon, being whole is important. To find such a state an emotional linkage is needed between motivations and security. Integrating the two may take some valiant effort. With worthwhile ideals and the power of trust many things are possible. The Pisces part of us is malleable and can take on innumerable roles, yet is very much at home with that area. Pisces, when strong, can easily be a member of any group without losing the individuality it exhibits in the part of a chart it covers. As with any sign there can be weakness, and with Pisces that could be an inability to fend for oneself.

April 17 Tuesday
The Pisces Moon entered her balsamic phase last night. At this time in the lunation, we can put our egos to rest, take an objective look at them, and humbly envision personal strength to deal with all kinds of things without the need to draw attention to our capabilities. The balsamic phase is a time to surrender and dream, to not take things personally. Pisces, in its best states, is natural at being reserved and at inhabiting a world of innerness where new perceptions incubate and come into a awareness. Being in such a space is advised as the Moon goes void of course at 8:34 am, MT, for over seventeen hours of being under the spell of purging Pisces.

April 18 Wednesday
There is an unearthly atmosphere with the void of course Pisces Moon until 9:59 am, MT, when the Moon moves into straightforward Aries. The competitive side of Aries shows up as thoughts and feelings seem to want to upstage each other. The Moon also comes full circle to where she last conjoined the Sun, ending the context in which we gained consciousness about our egos. From this afternoon through Friday it’s best to take the high road, to elevate our wills and desires to serve the greater good. This evening, however, there’s a strong tug for independence and fired-up energy to be self-serving!

April 19 Thursday
The Aries Moon is at ease with pioneering, or just doing things for the first time. Attractions seem to be constellated around renovation needs and synchronous connections that bring us to a crossroads with many choices offered. The Moon is graced today by the planet of magnetism and relationships, Venus. A week ago Venus entered her retrograde zone, bringing emotional issues to the surface. If restlessness or impatience heat up, they are indications of some values or ideals not being satisfied. Aries needs to see such feelings as a databank full of self revelations instead of obstacles to get around.

April 20 Friday
This morning’s Aries Moon presents us with the limits of our consciousness about being in relationships and about learning and categories. The Moon goes void of course at 1:35 pm, MT, until 10:05 pm. It’s easy to make assumptions during this time and try things that seem impossible to finish. The rambunctious Aries part of us will want to pursue something. But whatever it is, it’ll be evasive. This is a good time to get centered in some martial art or go on a walking meditation. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute.

April 21 Saturday
The Moon moved into self-sufficient Taurus last night and conjoined the Sun for a new cycle about our ability to see the hidden messages in nature, which includes our physical bodies. Internal emotional churnings are important indicators of issues needing attention. Sharing feelings with a long-trusted confidant can be the curtain call for new perspectives to enter the stage of consciousness. Opportunities to make quantum leaps in self-discovery abound. On Sunday major shifts occur as the Moon goes void of course at 11:10 am, MT, until tomorrow morning. We can be susceptible to emotional confusion the rest of the day. Being out in nature can be calming!
