Balsamic and New Moon

May 14 Monday With this Pisces Moon one may feel like bolstering self-worth overall. The whole package of one’s being can feel like it’s getting the ultimate makeover. If, however, there’s a feeling of being on wobbling feet, ungrounded, there is a danger of getting cut off, separated from one’s essential self. At least with Pisces, we can imagine the seed that encapsulates our potential for wholeness and ask our etheric parts to germinate that kernel. Our spiritual purpose is palpable in our feelings tonight, and as the Moon wanes, letting herself surrender to the powerful energy of consciousness that the Sun represents, she tells us to let go and receive greater understanding of who we really are. May 15 Tuesday The Pisces Moon goes void of course at 5:59 am, MT, releasing the philosophical and emotional intensity of Pisces for almost eight hours. During this time at 8:33 am, Venus goes retrograde, calling on us to re-evaluate some of our beliefs. We’ll know which ones by the emotions that get triggered this morning. If you’re feeling irritated, bored, frustrated, or some other emotion, look at the assumptions behind what you would prefer happening. It could be very easy to just let whatever is bothering you slip away, but that would be just suppressing something for a later view down the months or even years ahead. The Moon moves into vivacious Aries at 3:45 pm. May 16 Wednesday With this Aries Moon we may feel exceptionally alert this morning, and we can use that to change our focus and put things in new contexts. By gathering our current troubles, we may discover a unifying element that helps to identify what adjustments are needed. The Moon enters her balsamic phase at 2:23 pm, MT, when so many things grab our attention and need to be organized in a way that allows us to single out an emotional pattern and transmute it so that it falls into an ideal condition for envisioning some new behavior to emerge in the near future. We may feel discontent today with how we’ve been handling some responsibilities. May 17 Thursday This Aries Moon offers us a systemic view of our aspirations and whether or not they are easily attainable or hardly within our present capacity to reach. The former is indicative of having passed some tests. At 3:44 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course for almost twelve hours of stomping out the impulsive drives of Aries. During this time we may feel confused about what to do and make assumptions that lead us to dead ends. Instead of trying to orient oneself to a specific task, it is best to retreat and get uplifted in a meditative state, seeking assistance. May 18 Friday This morning the Moon adorned herself with the enticements of Taurus, energized to eclipse the Sun in two days to bring inner turmoil over compulsive habits. She suggests we drop our fears like ripe fruit from a tree and conjure up idealized pictures of the best possibilities. Taurus doesn’t get excited about losing anything, even a little trepidation if there’s a promise of treasure to be found. Such a condition can be strengthened if one has improved natural powers during this Moon cycle that is ending. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. May 19 Saturday Curiosity abounds with today’s Taurus Moon. It may just be about what tomorrow’s solar eclipse will be like. On Sunday morning at 6:35, MT, the Moon disrobes herself of lush Taurus for almost eleven hours while the Sun moves into Gemini at 9:16 am. During this time we can easily be attracted to many things and seduced by our gullibility. At 5:05 pm, the Moon follows the Sun into the fascinating and informative world of Gemini and begins to eclipse the Sun around 6:30 MT. The new Moon cycle begins at 5:47 pm, with a theme of deciding what to release from the underlying depths of our existence.
