Balsamic and New Moon

August 13 Monday The day begins with a dramatic feeling with this Cancer Moon. One might feel like acting out a recent dream. All morning there’s a sense of being comfortably supported, of belonging and being taken care of. At 3:13 pm, MT, the Moon enters her balsamic phase when it’s best to take everything we’ve learned in the cycle into an internal conference in which the wisdom of our sub-parts stirs up our imaginations about new impulses emerging into our consciousness. We can play around with this and may be confronted with some deep insights. These can trigger a quest for communion with higher forces. August 14 Tuesday This Cancer Moon is finely attuned to instincts. Yet they seem to fluctuate with interference from the rational mind, as we deal with expectations for the day. Responsibilities need attention, and others things might be thrust upon us as well. There may be reluctance to act, and energy seems to wane. There is, however, tension to do something. But when stressed, Cancer tends to withdraw into a shell and sometimes even sulks. Subconscious moods can take over. It helps to find things that fit together and provide the shielding needed to readjust and find whatever restores one’s strength and sensitivities. August 15 Wednesday The Cancer Moon is void of course this morning, rinsing off the sheltering tendencies of Cancer all morning. During this time we may feel vulnerable. Our typical defense mechanisms seem non-existent. Good music and good vibes can provide a refuge wherein our intuition and psychic abilities can flourish. At 12:05 pm, MT, the Moon moves into hospitable Leo. By adjusting to the likable aspects of the circumstances we’re in, we can play around with recent visions. Life is just one big stage, and this afternoon we can easily be aware of hidden emotions and needs and give voice to them as if in a drama. August 16 Thursday With this Leo Moon there’s the opportunity to take risks in exploring new emotional options. One way to do this would be to take on the role of a character in a book, movie, or play and act out the emotional states that character goes through. While doing this, swing between feelings of optimism and disappointment and take note of the changes and of which make you feel free and secure and which don’t. On this last day of a balsamic Moon it is important to let some things go. Feelings are the clue as to what can be released. It does not have to be a dramatic or traumatic scene. August 17 Friday We have a new Moon in Leo at 9:54 am, MT. There is a sense of promise at the beginning of this Moon cycle. It comes from a relationship with Spirit, an inner understanding that no matter how difficult it gets to deal with circumstances, one can be and will be at peace and at one with all energy as a spirit being. Over the next three days, pay attention to how often you stay aware of being in a state of grace. The Moon goes void of course at 11:55 am, snuffing out the bright glow of Leo until 6:33 pm, when she moves into wholeness- seeking Virgo. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. August 18 Saturday The Virgo Moon brings up concerns about the application of knowledge. Thoughts get entangled. Confusion and bewilderment get projected onto others, which can stir up some trouble. At 5:26 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course until Sunday night. So watch out for sensitivity and defensiveness on Sunday. It’s best to just be open to ideas. Much can be learned through exposure. It can seem like the process of osmosis. On the other hand, some of what one encounters during this time may not make any sense. A voiding Virgo Moon can be ideal for seeking a different kind of reality.
