Crescent and First Quarter Moon

December 17 Monday The Aquarius Moon offers chances to pursue an intuition about which personal habits need to be examined in a new context. At 11:12 am, the Moon goes void of course for over five hours of blowing away the trendy inclinations of Aquarius. During this period of uncertainty, new insights can stream into awareness if we intentionally open our inner channels to knowledge. At 5:48 pm, the Moon moves into the flowingness of Pisces. This evening we might move along by noting how order and/or chaos surround us. What neatness or messiness in the immediate environment is our responsibility? December 18 Tuesday At this point in the crescent phase with a Pisces Moon and valiant effort, we can surpass a level of order and cleanliness in some area of our lives by eliminating some flaw and following muse-like inspirations that bring rejuvenating feelings. By taking the proverbial high road and believing the best will happen, we can face a day full of promise. There’s a natural flow to the day. And, if we just think that our job is to ride the emotional current, some symbolic and hidden information can come up alongside us that is invaluable for deciding which behavior needs our attention for the rest of the week. December 19 Wednesday This Pisces Moon brings an effervescent lightness to the day. There are many directions which can be taken, and a spirit of independence leans towards an original or unconventional foray. Pisces can be unpredictable and even self-contradictory. Decision-making can be tough. But if one isn’t made, confusion will prevail. Everything will be mishmash. One will be muddled. At 10:19 pm, MT, the Moon enters her first quarter phase when one needs to take decisive action. In this cycle that has to do with seeing how everything is connected and recalibrating behavior so that it demonstrates the unifying links. December 20 Thursday The first quarter Moon moved into unyielding Aries during the night. We may feel like trying just about anything and everything to link our identity with being responsible for one’s personal carbon footprint. Social interactions on this topic can get one fired up to act. Focusing on the changes one wants to accomplish can provide lessons which broaden one’s wisdom. Overextension or overestimation of what is possible to be done can produce problems such as overcompensating in one’s eagerness to maximize potential. The Aries part of us is insatiable and not to be deterred. December 21 Friday With an Aries Moon, the Sun enters the tropical sign of Capricorn at 4:12 am, MT, marking the beginning of winter. Even though Aries can be very self-centered, there is a way in which interconnecting with others is recognized and useful. At this solstice point, the Moon and the Sun are at a stage of building a relationship which recognizes that fulfillment of needs and desires are dependent on such connections. They are in some way fated. Happy Winter Solstice! Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. December 22 Saturday The Moon moved into down-to-earth Taurus at 11:25 am, MT. With this sign we can see what looms in the future regarding our habits or lack thereof to clean up our share of toxicity in our world. If we’ve been focusing on this issue, it’s time to identify what works and give it all we’ve got. On Sunday we could be tested by tough situations. The Taurus in us has fixed attitudes and can get stubborn, even lazy. Shifting conditions can invigorate or dampen our spirits. Taurus can be easily defeated unless its industrious part kicks in and endures in constructing a cleaner environment.
