Gibbous and Full Moon

December 24 Monday The sometimes tidy Taurus Moon entered her gibbous phase last night, urging us to dispose of what is useless to make room for what is desired. Priorities trump all the baggage which Taurus often loves to keep. And in this cycle it’s best to clear out what’s just collecting dust. Sometimes with Taurus, external possessions get equated to self worth. Yet they can be a camouflage for low self esteem. It’s hard to get to what is essential and needs approval if it’s hidden in a pile of clutter. Late tonight the Moon shakes off materially-comforted Taurus and just after midnight moves into informative Gemini. December 25 Tuesday This Gemini Moon raises questions about the collective problems of climate change and the related trashing of the world. Deep impulses for change encourage networking, even among people not of like mind. Understanding comes when sharing how one feels about the earth. Humanitarian causes also come to life. Conversations deviate from the norm on Christmas day. Some could be pushed to a breaking point by the commonality of troubles discussed. Yet there are opportunities that pop up if one follows through on them. Merry Christmas! December 26 Wednesday The Gemini Moon is often inquisitive, wanting to see and know everything, sometimes indiscriminately. In this gibbous phase, however, it is important to note specific details behind ordinary ways in which we glide through the day. How often do you stop and look around for beauty in your environment? Are there naturally attractive things or are they human productions? How much time is spent in a neat, clean space? How comfortable and livable is the place you spend most of your time? Late tonight the Moon goes void of course, shaking off idea-collecting Gemini until tomorrow afternoon. December 27 Thursday The Gemini Moon is void of course, mixing up words and images without coherence until this afternoon. We might be a bit muddleheaded! At 1:06 pm, MT, the Moon moves into nostalgic Cancer. This sign supports recalling times when we’ve had our act together in unfamiliar territory. Such recollections can bring up forgotten skills at surmising a situation and anticipating what’s going to happen. In the case of unpredictable circumstances today, some of those skills of being aware of many, if not all, factors involved can be useful. The sign of Cancer can provide an instinctive grasp of the environment. December 28 Friday At 3:21 am, MT, we have a Cancer full Moon. This phase reveals how comfortably we adapt to foreign, even messy places as compared to one’s personal dwellings. One’s external environment can be a reflection of one’s inner states of being. A confrontation of sorts can come up about unifying our rough, unpolished habits. This can lead to a breakthrough in the boundaries of our awareness. At 7:43 pm, the Moon begins to void herself of watchful Cancer until tomorrow night! Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. December 29 Saturday The Cancer Moon is void of course all day. Moodiness could be rampant, and withdrawal could be the easiest way to escape disconcerting sensitivities. The Moon moves into self-assured Leo after midnight. On Sunday it’s possible to take charge of one’s surroundings, as well as interior landscape. We may see how to restore a lost condition with some unusually rugged determination. Several insights arise about how we maintain an inner sense of who we are no matter how messed up things can get. As the full Moon’s revelations coalesce, we can play around with how to incorporate them into our behavior.
