Disseminating and Last Quarter Moon

December 31 Monday This Leo Moon brings awareness to how we participate on a culturally level. What do we take for granted in the bigger social picture? What do we do to maintain a balance in our environment? The Moon goes void of course at 2:52 pm, MT, disrobing the dignity of Leo until tomorrow morning. It can be difficult to maneuver through the rest of the day. Some events make little sense. Unexpected twists show up. Spacing out seems to be a commonly shared state of mind. The Leo part of us gets grumpy and hard to please. The optimum option is to set aside ego demands, smile, and bask in the smiles of others. January 1 Tuesday At 3:18 am, MT, the voiding Leo Moon entered her gibbous phase. New light is brought to the revelations of the full phase. We can put them into a perspective which can advance self-discovery. At 10:35 am, the Moon moves into the distinguishing energy of Virgo. This placement supports taking some time to map out how one might want a resolution to unfold during the new year. Freedom and independence are important factors to consider while aspiring to have a year of demonstrating and experiencing more of what one can do. Happy 2013! January 2 Wednesday With this Virgo Moon toughness and resiliency can be accessed. We can relentlessly pursue a deeper understanding of the problem of messiness in our lives and how to incorporate an attitude about it. Or we can choose to ignore such a condition. Some people can tackle this with compulsiveness and determination. Others may be subdued about it and keep a low profile regarding it. Virgo is often thought of as a neat sign. Its shadow, however, comes up in various forms of messiness. But what’s important is being in sync with the flow of life more so than with one’s idealized pictures of it. January 3 Thursday The Virgo Moon went void of course at 5:15 am, MT, sweeping off what’s left of this meticulous sign until this evening. We might be hyper-stimulated with ideas this morning. There can be some great insights, and time may be well spent playing around with them as long as one is tolerant of wandering off on tangents. It’s easy to lose track of things during a voiding Moon. It’s best to excuse others, as well as oneself, for being disoriented and forgetful. At 6:11 pm, the Moon moves into mediating Libra. Our minds can get redirected to current needs. January 4 Friday The Libra Moon supports maintaining a pleasant environment. And there’s plenty of energy today to remove, or at least plan, to remove any surrounding toxicity. Plenty of ideas for doing this also are available. It’s important to decide to make some changes. The Moon enters her last quarter phase this evening at 8:58 pm, MT. Quarter Moons are all about committing to a change. This Moon draws our attending to caretaking patterns and how well they fill a need. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. January 5 Saturday With this Libra Moon we can compare options for replacing some behaviors with others more supportive of meeting one’s standards. At 4:13 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course until 11:09 pm. During this time we may be very defensive of our habits and somewhat unrealistic in our assessment of them. It’s best to spend the evening appreciating surrounding beauty. With the Moon in Scorpio on Sunday, we may end up with some mental breakthroughs. They can be trustworthy but require dealing with some bothersome tasks that require careful thinking and deep concentration.
