First Quarter and Gibbous Moon

March 18 Monday With this Gemini Moon comes a variety of opportunities to see how many ways we react when presented with new ideas. There might also be a chance to experiment with how far one can go with promoting an idea of something yet to be experienced. By boldly examining all of the options and sticking to one’s childlike instincts, a path with guidance into the unknown becomes evident. To follow it may take a leap in one’s capacities to juggle heavy responsibilities. The Gemini part of us can be clever and intelligently observant but sometimes is indiscriminant of differences between tasks and other people’s abilities to handle them. March 19 Tuesday This Gemini Moon brings a case of impatience with others, a restlessness to move on. At 11:26 am, MT, the Moon enters her first quarter phase when a commitment is called for to pursue an option to change. The direction taken over the week ahead will require one to compare and evaluate the unfolding potential of activating an ideal. This first quarter Moon goes void of course for a little over an hour of blowing off inquisitive Gemini. During this time we may feel scattered and disorganized. Collecting images helter-skelter to examine later can be productive. At 12:55 pm, MT, the Moon moves into sustaining Cancer. March 20 Wednesday At 5:02 am, MT, the Sun moves into tropical Aries, beginning the Vernal Equinox and the season of Spring. With the Moon in Cancer, a sign determined to develop the individual, there are strong impulses to initiate something that takes us in a new direction, ideally one that finds us actively participating in the social world. We may feel like we’re being singled out, yet issues show up when trying to share intimately with another. The Moon begins to void herself of the constructive energy of Cancer at 12:02 pm, MT, until tomorrow night. During this time uncertainly prevails along with gullibility. March 21 Thursday The Cancer Moon is void of course until after midnight. While she is draining off the strong subjectivity of Cancer, We can learn some deep lessons from today’s situations. Some of us may encounter tight scrapes which restrict us until we work at understanding them. Then openings can appear. With a voiding Cancer Moon we might refuse to analyze limiting circumstances and end up hair splitting without really wanting to know what’s happening. The sign of Cancer, at its best, can provide feelings of inner wholeness and help us adapt to specific demands of the day. March 22 Friday The Moon is in the infectious fun of Leo, and a sense of ease lightens the day. We may, however, feel a bit jumpy as the morning unfolds. There’s some very tense, potentially explosive energy afoot. Focus is necessary to contain the tensions which arise seemingly out of nowhere. Creating a personal work space can quicken one’s grasp of possibilities. A light-hearted, celebratory spirit can lead to branching out and finding new things to explore. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. March 23 Weekend The void of course Leo Moon entered her gibbous phase at 11:55 am, MT. At this stage in the cycle there’s a need to play along with what is developing by using a technique that comes naturally or simply that works even if it is incongruous with one’s nature. Getting loose from any restrictions and making any adjustments called forth can bring one closer to handling the responsibilities that come with pioneering. At 9:49 am, MT, Sunday, the Moon enters hard-working Virgo. It’s time to get one’s hands (or mind) dirty conjuring up an ideal image of how to respond to new social requirements. It may be a struggle to express this.
