Crescent and First Quarter Moon

April 15 Monday With this crescent Gemini Moon new ideas are popping up everywhere. But like early morning glistening dew on grass, they can vanish quickly. Chasing after those thoughts which link to whatever emerged with last Wednesday’s new Moon can lead to growing self-awareness and leaving behind an old pattern. At 1:41 pm, MT, the Moon goes void of course for seven hours. While she is shaking off the tidbits of information that Gemini gathers, we can freely associate with them in a creative, brainstorming manner. At 8:49 pm, the Moon moves into constructive Cancer for piecing together the images we’ve collected. April 16 Tuesday The Cancer Moon innately reflects on the past and has a piggybank full of memories. During the crescent phase with this Moon many of us can unconsciously be sucked back into familiar habits. But despite Cancer’s treasure trove of history, it is not that interested in repeating the past. Breaking away is far more stimulating, especially when one is in pursuit of new experiences that have an affinity to tradition yet sparkle with potential yet untapped. A degree of freedom is needed to bring deeper talents for creative activity to the surface. It’s a day for pushing the limitations of one’s personal armor. April 17 Wednesday With this Cancer Moon, protection mode is advised. Hiding weak spots and wearing boxing gloves can provide all the security needed. When moments of feistiness erupt, all that’s needed is an assertive stance and a bit of patience while things calm down to a simmering point. Identifying the pivotal triggering points can also help to avoid unnecessary discord. That will take an intuitive attunement to situations encountered. By putting action into developing one of various new projects, a level of success can be attained. This day is all about doing fueled by self-assertion and maybe a little narcissism. April 18 Thursday We have a first quarter Cancer Moon at 6:31 am, MT. We’re at a tipping point when it’s best to decide upon a new action and do it. The Moon also goes void of course at this time for almost three hours of draining off the ever-ready to change sign of Cancer. We can feel fragile and vulnerable during this time. Yet our intuition is on high alert to guide us. At 9:13 am the Moon moves into Leo’s realm of emotional outbursts. Risky adventures can clash with personal preferences or with relationship needs. Searching for the perfect outlet might be futile. Choosing anything that brings beauty cab arouse the hearts of like-minded companions. April 19 Friday Friday’s Leo Moon begins with a bit of reluctant feelings. Making lists and establishing priorities can be satisfying. It can be fun to learn more and more about something personally special. At 3:06 pm, MT, the Moon begins to void herself of playful Leo until tomorrow evening. While she is putting out Leo’s blazing enthusiasm, we can easily re-create in our minds how we jump into action and assert ourselves. Also at 4:03 pm, the Sun enters down-to-earth Taurus, reminding us to stay grounded. Listen to MoonWise tomorrow on the worldwide web at ksfr.org from 2:00 to 2:30 pm, MT, for the weekend Moon Minute. April 20 Weekend The Leo Moon is void of course most of the day. We could be swallowed up in strangeness. Scattered thoughts make conversations fragmented. Minds seem to change for no reason at all. At 7:08 pm, MT, the Moon moves into precision-loving Virgo, and focusing allows one to pursue and develop an idea. There can be some level-headed sharing this evening that generates excitement. On Sunday some thoughts expressed might push one beyond the limits of comfort, but new ground can get covered. With determination examining one’s habitual pattern of assertion can lead to a reliable assessment of that behavior.
